Hell in a HandbasketAs the Department of Agriculture considers abandoning the "Food Pyramid" (is there anyone out there who has ever made a single feeding decision based upon this dopey thing?), Michele steps up to the plate (ahem) and offers the Food Pentagram. Why a "Food Pyramid" in the first place? The "Food Pyramid" just never made any sense at all. Pyramids aren't food. "The Food Soup," okay, I can understand that. "The Food Meal," okay, a little generic, but still something I "get." Why not something intuitive and instantly memorable, like "the Food Sandwich"?:
See? It's all there. Bread, meat, dairy, a vegatable that you're probably not going to eat, nonstop profanity, creepy eyes... Photo Credit: Used with permission of Enjoy Every Sandwhich. "Sandwich for Skippy" pic created by Zombie and Rowan. posted by Ace at 01:22 AM
CommentsFirst! And Johnny Coldcuts F*CKING RULES. /fat kid out. Posted by: fat kid on July 14, 2004 02:53 AM
Okay, is it me or is Johnny Coldcuts looking scarier and scarier. He's starting to freak me out. (I just hope I don't see him in my dreams) Posted by: JFH on July 14, 2004 09:37 AM
Yeah, between freaky Johnny Coldcuts and Rosie O'Donnell both snarling at me, I'm ready for a site update. It's just not a happy thing. Posted by: See-dubya on July 14, 2004 10:19 AM
A recipe for a perfect site? Johnny Coldcuts and Lara Flynn Boyle. Plus, a healthy dose of sweet, sweet, Poon Metal. Posted by: Senator PhilABuster on July 14, 2004 10:38 AM
I have to admit, every time I see that picture, it seems to get a little creepier and a little more vaguely menacing. Either that or I'm just getting high off of carbon monoxide fumes. Posted by: Beck on July 14, 2004 10:51 AM
It's the sprouts. No self respecting sandwich includes sprouts. It's like putting ketchup on a hot dog. Posted by: Raoul Ortega on July 14, 2004 12:50 PM
I wouldn't mind seeing some of the recent Bush twins snapshots, as this is a conservative website after all... Posted by: Longshanks on July 14, 2004 02:16 PM
More Johnny Coldcuts you heathens! Fat kid needs something to masterbate to at work! Now *THERE'S* a mental image for you! Posted by: fat kid on July 14, 2004 03:39 PM
Ya know, hot as the Bush twins are, I wouldn't touch 'em with a ten foot pole. It's one thing to piss off a daddy who owns a 12-guage. But when he has access to SOCOM and the nuclear football, that's more trouble than ANY hit is worth.... Posted by: Brian B on July 14, 2004 03:41 PM

Update to the video of a Russian soldier being spun around and thrown by the machinegun he was operating: The soldier was testing an old, archaic Russian machinegun intended to be mounted to a helicopter. The old gun was pressed into service as a possible anti-drone gun. The Russian army is generally depleted and being forced to bring a lot of old, unreliable weapons and platforms to the front.

FDA is providing an update regarding the sample of lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms de Mexico which was reported positive on July 18, 2026.
