Atrios Calls for a Return to Civility in Politics

...with a predictable change-of-heart coming within a few posts. Very funny.

You know, I don't bother calling for a "return to civility" because 1) I don't believe that such a prelapsarian state of political politeness existed and 2) because I kinda like incivility.

You should probably stop reading this post at this point.

But why should I be put off by such hypocrisies? I think I'm going to join this pustulating cocksucker in his call for increased civility. Then, I'm going to take this little pisher by the hips and fuck him up the ass until his eyes pop out and roll across the floor like craps dice.

Again, not in a gay way. But like a Viking.

Yes! Civility! Let's have more of that.

Thanks to Bill from INDC, who's another guy I need to have on my blogroll.

That would be an interesting study: Has there ever been a point where politics were even remotely definable as "civil"? I think when most people say it what they're talking about is when the press never wrote about what a man-slut President Kennedy was.

hmmm. prelapsarian. theology major in another life?

No. I just hear smart people on NRO always using that word, and I want people to think I'm smart too.

Actually, Atrios was just quoting Bill Clinton's call for more civility. He doesn't explicity endorse Clinton's view.

Try making a polite, contrarian comment at Atrios' little swillhole. Within minutes, the deranged liberals who frequent the site will respond with vicious attacks and probably call for your actual death in a painful manner. They are impervious to any facts that dont conform to their "Bush crime family, Halliburton contracts, no Al Qaeda-Saddam nexus, etc" worldview. Logic is not woven into their mental mosaic.
I've learned you cant have a civil debate with these folks. All you can do is beat them and mock them mercilessly while doing so.

Warner was in Costa Rica on a family vacation and drowned while swimming near Cocles after allegedly being caught by a high current on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred between 2 and 2:30 p.m. local time.
Costa Rican National Police told The Post that Warner was pulled from the water by people in the area and taken to shore, where the Costa Rica Red Cross tried to revive him but were unsuccessful in their efforts.
His body was taken to the morgue at San Joaquin de Flores for an autopsy. The cause of death is listed as asphyxiation by "submersion."
