Jim Moran: My Opponent Hasn't Done Any Public Service, And Has Just Taken A Government Check for 20 Years

By which he means his opponent, Lt. Col. Patrick Murray, was just defending the nation in the military for 20 years, not doing important stuff like sitting in committee and fundraising.

He goes on to equate military service with a form of welfare -- like, hey, how dare this guy take a government check for so long and then want to shrink government spending! What an ingrate!

BTW, I just found the last candidate I'm doing GOTV for, on the last weekend before the election. I'm walking districts for Lt. Col. Murray.

And yeah, I'm still doing phone-banking for Jon Runyan tomorrow at his Toms River HQ, from 3-6 (meet up at 2:45 outside the place), and then dinner/beer after.

Only three or four people are coming so far; sure would be nice to have more!

The "Bush" in question is the... USS George H.W. Bush, the aircraft carrier, where the guy served.

And this was in anticipation of Obama's visit.

They just don't like the military, do they?
