Nancy Pelosi Will Finally Relinquish the Speaker's Gavel From Her Twisted Claws
The Republicans have taken control of the House, and Pelosi will not seek a position as minority leader.
Our long national nightmare has almost ended.
"For me, the hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus that I so deeply respect, and I'm grateful that so many are ready and willing to shoulder this awesome responsibility," Mrs. Pelosi told lawmakers.
Mrs. Pelosi, 82, isn't retiring from Congress, yet. She plans to stick around and play an advisory role for the leadership team, which is about to undergo the biggest shuffle in more than 15 years. She'll continue to represent her congressional district in San Francisco, a seat she's held since 1987.
or me, the hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus
Huzzah! Our chance has arrived.

Clearing out the old white wood:
Mrs. Pelosi's announcement was swiftly followed with news from her longtime deputy, 83-year-old Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, that he, too, will step aside from his top post, but remain in Congress representing Maryland's 5th District.
"Now is the time for a new generation of leaders," Mr. Hoyer wrote to Democratic lawmakers.
By the way, now that the election has passed, it's safe for an NBC affiliate to confirm what Miguel Almaguer previously reported: that bodycam video of the officer responding to the Paul Pelosi incident show Pelosi opening the door, then walking back inside the house to stand close to his "friend," David DePape.
The local NBC affiliate is not shy about their scoop, and they put it right in the headline that the DOJ is lying, at least about who opened the door.
Body Cam Video Shows Paul Pelosi Opened Door for Police, Despite DOJ Saying Otherwise: Source
The NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit spoke with a source familiar with the Pelosi investigation, who personally viewed body camera video recorded by officers responding to the Pelosi's San Francisco home.
In the video report -- definitely watch! -- the anchor goes on to repeat what Miguel Almaguer got suspended for saying: that Paul Pelosi opened the door and then "retreated" to stand near David DePape.
So is NBC News going to demand that the local affiliate suspend their anchor and local reporter or what?
Also note the DA cannot explain why Paul Pelosi did not run, or just walk, from the house when the officers were at the door. He'll have to explain that to a jury, she says. (Not as in "he'll have to face a jury," but he'll have to explain that at David DePape's trial.)
So everything Miguel Almaguer reported was true, and NBC suspended him, without explaining why or saying what parts of his story were false. And the DOJ's version of events is at least false in part.
That's where we are.
As with the lab leak theory and Hunter Biden's laptop, sometimes the difference between "conspiracy theory" and "accepted truth" is just a matter of the passing of an election.
If you have any further questions, here's your answer: Shut up, Russian Agents.
Meanwhile, the man who will succeed Nancy Pelosi is a racist and election denier. In other words, a standard issue Democrat.
