Fed Head Jer Powell warns that inflation will be very not-transitory and the Dow plunges 1000 points.

Note he says that he's going to keep interest rates high for a long time -- which means inflation is going to be high for a long time. He wouldn't just keep interest rates high for the hell of it. He's keeping them high because he expects it will take an extended recession -- you know, the recession we're definitely not in --before inflation begins to abate.

Stocks plummeted Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said in his Jackson Hole speech the central bank won't back off in its fight against rapid inflation.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1,008.38 points, or 3.03%, to 32,283.40, with losses accelerating into the close. The S&P 500 fell 3.37% to 4,057.66, and the Nasdaq Composite slid 3.94% to 12,141.71.

The major averages declined for a second week. The Dow tumbled 4.2%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite lost roughly 4% and 4.4%, respectively.

Powell reiterated a tough stance against inflation, spurring investors to weigh the implications of higher interest rates kept in place for a longer time.

"Restoring price stability will likely require maintaining a restrictive policy stance for some time. The historical record cautions strongly against prematurely loosening policy," Powell said.

Because this is the best economy in 81 million votes. Wait, I think I'm getting my ludicrous propaganda lines mixed up. Well whatever, something something semi-fascist.

Yesterday I wrote that the DC students denied an education wouldn't have learned anything in DC's horrible schools anyway. I must have picked that up from this article about the situation from Christopher Fountain. I've had that tab up among my 300+ open tabs for a week, so the headline was stuck in my head.

DC's incompetent and corrupt mayor realized that this is, as the Smug Twitter Liberals (by which I mean "FBI agents") say, "a bad look," so she has just given students a reprieve... until 2023. So until January. They can go to school until January, and then they'll be kicked out.

Hey I've got an idea: Instead of the teachers union forcing healthy children with virtually no risk of serious illness due to covid to get an untested vaccination, why don't the morbidly obese teachers so worried about catching covid fucking start losing weight so they won't be so susceptible to infection?

Oh right -- children are "resilient." So let's make them carry all of the burden on behalf of adults being paid by the state.

So strange how the CDC has still never addressed weight loss as a general prophylactic against covid and all other respiratory infections! It's almost as if there's a powerful left-aligned lobby that forbids obvious medical advice about weight loss.

Dangerhaired SJW teacher who bragged about turning her classroom into an anti-white space is suspended.

A Utah teacher who bragged about building her elementary classroom for "nonwhite students" has been suspended and put on paid leave.

In a video that was posted on her social media account, the teacher, who remains unnamed, claimed, "For the first time in my life, I'm going to be teaching at a majority-white school, and I'm kind of interested to see how students and parents react to my classroom, or if they even notice anything about it, because it's built for nonwhite students."

And yes, in case you missed it, Marjorie-Taylor Green was swatted again the very next night. Swatting is the crime of calling in a fake police emergency to your location, falsely claiming to 911 that there is an armed and dangerous person there killing people, in hopes that the cops burst in to your home in full SWAT armor and make an error and kill an innocent person.

Swatting is attempted murder.

Of course, no one in the Biden Administration has condemned this. They never condemn the violence committed by their Antifa Paramilitaries.
