New York Post: Disney Groomer Network ABC Will Not Renew Jimmy Kimmel's Contract, Show Will End in 2027

This is just what Page 6 "is told." There is no official word on this, and in fact the Disney Groomer Network is "pushing back" against the claim.

Next season of ABC's late-night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" will be the last, Page Six is told.

"His contract is not getting extended," a source familiar with the situation explained.

The season begins Tuesday and would wrap up, after 24 years on the air, in May 2027.

A spokesperson for ABC Entertainment told us, "[This] information is inaccurate -- any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative."

That's barely a denial.

Kimmel takes pride in signing year-to-year deals, which are rare in the TV biz and allow him unusual flexibility.

The news comes on the heels of Rosie O'Donnell completing a four-night guest-hosting run on his show that was a ratings success.

O'Donnell was "in her element," a source told us. So much so that she went viral for mocking her longtime nemesis, President Trump, by performing a parody of the traditional Irish song "Danny Boy" that she called "Donnie Boy."

Insiders say the move is unlikely to be related to Kimmel's antagonistic relationship with the Trump administration.

"He's not afraid of the administration ... Josh isn't folding," the TV insider said.

D'Amaro has reportedly been offering veteran execs early retirement packages as part of restructuring and cost-cutting across the company.

Cost reductions may have played a factor in their decision to part ways with Kimmel because, as one ABC source said, "it wouldn't have anything to do with Trump."

The Rosie O'Donnell "ratings success" is a double-edged sword, isn't it?

By "ratings success," they mean the Unfunny Version of Annie Wilkes scored much higher ratings than Jimmy Kimmel.

That's not good news for Jimmy Kimmel, is it?

It's hard to find Jimmy Kimmel's average ratings, because most search results are about ratings in specific weeks. But I found an article stating that his average ratings over an entire quarter in 2025 were 1.77 million.

And Rosie O'Donnell got 1.87 million.

If I were an executive, what I would take from this is that I can plop any non-talent in the 11:35 pm slot and get better ratings than Jimmy Kimmel.
