Tool Time! How To Carry And Store Your Tools
[Hat Tip: Nurse Ratched]
Tools are great! I love 'em, and judging by the number of comments about them...all sorts, from kitchen tools to back hoes and tractors, the Moron Horde likes them too.
But carrying them is a different matter, because one of the corollaries to Murphy's Law is that you never, ever have the correct tool in your tool belt or bucket or box or pockets. And of course when you go back to the house or climb down from the roof or the attic, you can't find the damned thing, because you last used it 12 years ago and put it...um...who the hell knows!
This also applies to the kitchen, where that special knife or tool is buried in the back of the utensil drawer, right behind something that's probably just a bit too sharp to be stored in a drawer.
I still have my carpenter's tool belt from a long time ago. I can't seem to throw it away, even though there is no way I am going to need it...I think. I even replaced the speed square for some ridiculous reason. There is very little framing in my future, but the belt looks funny without one in it.
So how do you keep your tools handy and neat and accessible? And how do you carry them to the far corner of the house or property or job site? Embarrassing stories of tools gone missing and tools not brought are always worth a bonus!
