Did you ever wonder why CBS has a license to broadcast? (In an Andy Rooney imitation voice)

Setting the poor comedy aside. Why is CBS allowed to exist as an over the air broadcast entity? If there is anyone at the FCC monitoring the AoSHQ please feel free to answer the previous question after providing you and our audience some basic information. Which by the way is very easy to verify.

Do you remember when Walter Cronkite was judge and jury concerning the Viet Nam War? There were only 3 networks at the time. One would have thought something like that opinion would go into ones Permanent Record. But, I guess not.

Unless you really are under the age of 29 you really don't know much about or remember the CBS Dan Rather hatchet job on George W. Bush on September 8, 2004.

Rather lost his job. GW became POTUS. CBS spent some money defending Rather's lawsuit regarding termination and kept it's license.

Fast forward 20 years and CBS's '60 Minutes' wanted to influence a presidential election again. Once again it was proven you cannot make a silk purse out of a word salad pig's ear.

CBS News parent company Paramount has agreed to settle President Donald Trump's lawsuit that accuses CBS's flagship news program, 60 Minutes, of editing an interview last year to benefit then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. CBS and Paramount will pay a sum that could exceed $30 million in total, according to a source familiar.

Paramount said it will pay $16 million upfront to cover Trump's legal expenses and donate to his future presidential library, according to multiple reports Wednesday. As part of the settlement, the company also agreed to release full written transcripts of future 60 Minutes interviews with presidential candidates.

In addition to the lump sum payment, it is anticipated that CBS will air eight figures worth of advertisements, PSAs, or similar content promoting conservative causes for free, a source familiar with the negotiations and settlement deal told the Washington Free Beacon. While Paramount's current brass has disputed that provision, the incoming management team that is expected to take over after the company's merger with Skydance plans to honor it, the source said.

Now fast forward and CBS once again plays loose heavily edits an interview of U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee criticized CBS News on Friday for selectively editing a recent interview with him, conveying a different message than the one he expressed in the full conversation.

“Ever wonder how the media edits an interview to give you a different story than the one they had?” Huckabee tweeted.

The big news yesterday was President Trump's taking over the Washington DC policing.

If I were a real journalist instead of a measly COB I would have asked the following question. Washington DC crime stats show an interesting drop in reported crime. Is there any dispute about the current crime stats?????

Washington DC police commander suspended regarding crime stats.

A D.C. police commander is under investigation for allegedly making changes to crime statistics in his district.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Michael Pulliam was placed on paid administrative leave in mid-May. That happened just a week after Pulliam filed an equal employment opportunity complaint against an assistant chief and the police union accused the department of deliberately falsifying crime data, according to three law enforcement sources familiar with the complaint.

The union claims police supervisors in the department manipulate crime data to make it appear violent crime has fallen considerably compared to last year.

Pulliam — the former commander of the 3rd District that patrols Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights — was placed on leave with pay and told he was under investigation for questionable changes to crime data, five law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told News4.

This is how CBS reported the crime stats of DC.

WTF! How many free search engines do you have to ignore that a DC PD Commander was suspended for allegedly changing crime stats?

Even if the crime rates did lower in Washington, DC, its crime rate still exceeds the national average by three to four percent. A 2-15 NFL team that improves by 28% is still a losing NFL team.

CBS is a pathetic joke and should be relegated to the bowels of free streaming crap. Channel designation FAFO would be a fitting.
