Sunday Thread in Lieu of the Travel Thread: First Dates [Y-not]

Last night, Mr Y-not and I went on a "date." We're coming up on our 30th wedding annivesary (at the end of this summer), so it may seem odd to call it a date, but that's what it really felt like.

We were supposed to go to something else last night, but neither of us had the heart for it so we decided to play hooky, dress up a bit, and head up to Salt Lake to one of our favorite little places, a neighborhood place that features Spanish-style tapas and good drinks. I think what made it really seem "date-like" is that instead of the usual mundane day-to-day topics, most of our conversation was about hopes and dreams, likes and dislikes. Lots of "what is your favorite..." questions. No home repair, family budget, or even work-related topics.

It was great.

This weekend instead of the Travel Thread I thought we could stick closer to home and talk about First Dates.
