Not to look past Election Day, but... (tmi3rd)
Let's preface this by reminding everyone (as if they needed a reminder here) that they need to get out and kick serious ass in the voting booth on Tuesday.
All of this is moot if we don't get out and utterly crush the Left on Tuesday.
That said, starting Thursday after the election, Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) is throwing a bunch of town hall meetings around Tennessee. The schedule and some thoughts are below the fold...
The schedule will follow this- just a couple of quick thoughts...
Corker didn't push conservatism as hard as I might prefer to this point, although he got in in 2006 with the Democrat takeover. In any event, it'll be rather important to emphasize to the GOP (in whatever strength they have) going forward to stay true to what they've paid lip service- fiscal conservatism, most importantly.
It's going to be important to maintain the enthusiasm of the past eighteen months over the next two years. It would be quite a surprise to have Obama tack to the center (and rather unlikely, to be sure), but to give the GOP any wiggle room would be a big mistake.
As such, I want to urge our Tennessee Morons (as a former TN Moron) to go to whatever one of these is convenient to you, and politely and respectfully hold his feet to the fire.
When I was at the CBS affiliate in Nashville, Corker's people were good to me and receptive, and I suspect the same will apply today. Go let the man know what you think, get on his mailing list, and stay on him!
In the meantime, folks, let's get out and vote, and enjoy the fruits of our labors when we do. Tuesday, we hoist the black flag and start slitting throats.
Here's that schedule...
"Our national debt is at a record $13.5 trillion and rising every day. In six town hall meetings across Tennessee, Senator Bob Corker will deliver a sobering slide presentation on Washington's spending trends and mounting debt levels and then respond to questions from the audience. To view Senator Corker's presentation on America's debt crisis and to access a PDF copy, please visit: http://corker.senate.gov/public/?p=america-s-debt-crisis."
Details for each town hall meeting are listed below. Thanks so much."
