Still No Correction In Washington Post Piece
I've now written the reporter and the editor, but have not corrected their assertion that Kos is a "Persian Gulf War veteran."
Nor, of course, have they shared with us how the reporter came to believe this to be true. Given that Kos has previously claimed "I wore combat boots" and "I served during the Gulf War" during the same Reliable Sources appearance, it seems most likely the reporter was misled by Kos himself.
It's a clear error, and an easily determined one, but the Washington Post just doesn't have the time, I guess.
On the other hand, they did manage to make this important correction:
Correction to This Article
In earlier versions of this story, including the print edition of today's Washington Post, the name of Bernita Smith, a blogger from Atlanta, was misspelled as Bernina Smith.
How much you want to bet that that blogger wrote to the reporter herself, same as I did, about the misspelling, and got herself a correction within an hour?
I guess he just hasn't had time to check his emails since then. Even emails with subject lines like, "Clear Error in Story."
