Sonny Hostin is Beaming With Pride About Being the Holdout Juror That Got a Literal Cannibal Killer Off

A literal cannibal killer killed and then butchered victims and served their meat to the homeless.

That's not a pitch for an A24 horror movie. That really happened in New York City in the 1990s. The killer was called "the Butcher of Tompkins Square Park." I used to live around there (but I have an alibi).

Bursting with what David Strom calls "main character syndrome" -- the belief of narcissists that they are the star of the show called "reality" and that everything they do is justified and good because they're the main character of the show and therefore the hero -- Sonny Hostin glowed as she Karensplained that she was the lone holdout juror during the Butcher's trial and spared him a murder conviction.

Oh, she also says that Lindsay Clancy is not guilty because of course she does.

Hostin left no doubt about where she stood. "The insanity defense has been around in Massachusetts for 182 years, so I think it's well established," she said. "And I thought, absolutely, she was not criminally responsible by reason of insanity."

Then Hostin explained where her conviction came from.

Before she went to law school, Hostin sat on the jury in the early 1990s murder trial of Daniel Rakowitz, better known as "The Butcher of Tompkins Square Park." Rakowitz killed his roommate, a Swiss dancer named Monika Beerle, and cut up her body in a bathtub. He then cooked her remains into a soup, ate some of it, and handed it out to homeless people in the New York City park.

A New York Times article on the case described a lone holdout who "was principally responsible ... for preventing them from returning a guilty verdict."

"That was me," Hostin said. "And it was because I saw clearly that he was psychotic."

Then she offered her own version of the killing, and it sounded more like a closing argument for the defense than a confession of regret.

Alyssa Farah Griffin couldn't let her finish. "And you got this guy off?!" she asked, clearly horrified.

"That's how much I believe in the insanity defense," Hostin said before wrapping up her account: "And he fed her body parts to the unhoused."

And she's proud he got him a not guilty verdict.

Meanwhile, fellow The View co-AWFUL Sarah Haines is appalled that Patrick Clancy divorced his wife just because she had a little Oopsie Moment when she cold-bloodedly manually strangled his three infant children to death.

Didn't he promise to remain with her in mental sickness and in health? 'till triple infanticide do we part?

Just for context: Left-wing women are constantly online telling women to divorce their husbands over minor dissatisfactions, including just finding some other guy more sexually exciting. AWFULs routinely make novels urging women to abandon their husbands and their children for the goal of selfish self-fulfillment national best-sellers and major Hollywood movies. Eat Pray Love, for example.

Meanwhile, of course, they insist that a (spit) man remain a slave forever to his evil murderess wife.
