Woman Blows It on Wheel of Fortune. But...

She was puzzling out the clue and did manage to say all the words of the answer, but not quite continuously. The judges ruled she had not said the answer completely, and she lost the grand prize.

She couldn't find the right words, at least not in sequence. Maybe it was a bit of a trick answer, because the puzzle's answer was "Choosing the right word."

And so she missed the grand prize, an Audi.

"This one’s tough because you said all the right words, including the word 'word' but as you know, it's got to be more or less continuous," host Pat Sajak said. "We'll allow for a little pause but not four or five seconds. I'm sorry, you did a good job in getting it but we can't give you the prize and it was the Audi."

Well, any large corporation knows how to play the game of Easy Publicity at a Very Low Cost, so they agreed: Give her the car.

I don't know if it's really a "feel-good story" but, hey, she got a car. I guess that's nice.

What do you think? Am I too cynical? Or maybe a little too idealistic which becomes its own form of cynicism, in a vindictive sort of way?
