Washington Post: Intelligence Community Increasingly Worried That Trump Is Investigating Insane "Conspiracy Theories" That They Ran Some Kind of Covert Op in the 2016 Election

I mean, can you believe this conspiracy theory? The theory that Brennan, Clapper, and Comey conspired to open up a criminal investigation -- disguised as a counterintelligence investigation, because the standards are reduced and there's less transparency -- against the man who was seeking to beat their preferred candidate as president?

What nonsense! How silly!

Seems like some people are getting very nervous and very determined to place a counter-myth in the press.

At the Daily Caller, Chuck Ross reports that yes, Barr and Durham are meeting with foreign nationals to interview them about their role in the Collusion Conspiracy.

Attorney General William Barr has met with foreign intelligence officials, including during a trip to Italy earlier in September, regarding an investigation into surveillance activities against the Trump campaign, The Washington Post reported.

Barr was joined in the meeting by John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, WaPo reported, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

It's now illegal for Barr and the US Attorney probed with investigating this matter to investigate this matter because... well, because the Democrats behind the Collusion Conspiracy don't want to be caught and go to prison.

The New York Times is all-in on defending their Deep State co-conspirators, of course.

Even Bret Baier notes the New York Times' big scoop here is that Donald Trump is doing... exactly what he publicly announced he'd be doing back in May:

Meanwhile, the New York Times' central claim-- that Trump is "pressuring" Australia to investigate the election interference its diplomat Alexander Downer was a central participant in -- is false, according to... the government of Australia.

They say there's no pressure-- allies cooperate with allies when it comes to allegations of election interference.

Here's the letter the Australian government sent May 28th -- shortly after Trump announced the FBI probe into election inteference including UK and Australian nationals and state operatives.

Dear Attorney General,

I refer to President Trump’s announcement on 24 May that you will investigate the origins of the Federal Bureau of Investigations probe into Russian links to the 2016 US election.

I note that the President referred to Australia, the United Kingdom and the Ukraine as potential stakeholders. Moreover, I note that he has declassified intelligence material to support your investigation.

The Australian Government will use its best endeavors to support your efforts in this matter.

Where's the pressure?

Anyone notice the pattern that when Brennan and Clapper are conspiring with foreign governments to open investigations into Trump, that's just "investigating," but when Barr probes Brennan's and Clapper's actions, suddenly that's an unconstitutional and illegal abuse of office?

Gee, I wonder who the sources for these stories might be.

And I wonder why this 11th Hour attack just came from the Deep State...
