Lindsey Graham: Trump Will "Very Likely" Fire Jeff Sessions After Midterms
A lot of commenters ask why he hasn't already fired him. The reasons are probably that his RINO/Establishment White House counsel Don McGahn keeps warning him away from doing so, telling him it would be more made-up obstruction of justice, and that RINO/Establishment Senators have declared that they would not confirm any other AG. None. So if Trump fired Sessions, there would be no replacement AG. The DOJ would be run by the new acting AG, which is to say: Ron Rosenstein.
But there's a good chance that the GOP will gain Senators in the mid-terms, and the new Senators will largely have been elected running on the claim that they are pro-Trump.
Were that to happen, it could well be that Trump would have enough new pro-Trump Senators to actually get a new AG confirmed.
So that might be Graham's thinking.
Even Graham, who I believe was one of the RINOs who said he wouldn't confirm any new AG, now says that Trump is entitled to an AG who is actually Trump's pick for AG:
"The president's entitled to an attorney general he has faith in, somebody that's qualified for the job, and I think there will come a time, sooner rather than later, where it will be time to have a new face and a fresh voice at the Department of Justice," Graham told Bloomberg News adding "clearly, Attorney General Sessions doesn’t have the confidence of the president."
