American Association of University Professors Claims that Political Pressure Is the Only Possible Reason Behind the Firing of a Prof Who Bullied a Student By Calling Her a Racial Slur

In the article I'll quote in a bit, you'll see that the fired professor denigrated the (presumably white) girl protesting as a "Becky."

This is a racial slur. As Urban Dictionary defines "Becky:"

A stereotypical, basic white girl; obsessed with Starbucks, Ugg boots, and trying to have a bigger butt

So calling a group of white girls "Beckies" is no different than calling a group of black girls some stereotypical, derogatory name like "Shaniquas."

Yet, this isn't called racism, because black racists insist, conveniently enough, that black racism isn't racism. It's just "racial justice empowerment" or something.

I think the Nazis used to have some Racial Justice Empowerment language they liked to deploy, too.

The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) has concluded that political pressure is the only explanation for the dismissal of a professor who harassed a conservative student.

"An investigative report is out today in a case that crystallizes the current right-wing assault on higher education," the AAUP announced on its website. "It involves issues that the AAUP has been working on intensively this year: faculty harassment and exaggerated controversies over free speech on campus."

"We find it impossible not to see the heavy hand of political pressure in the decision taken by the administration to remove Ms. Lawton from the classroom."

The report focuses on Courtney Lawton, a teaching assistant at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) who joined several other faculty members in protesting the president of UNL’s Turning Point USA chapter (TPUSA), Katie Mullen, while she tried to recruit new members on campus.

While the other instructors settled for holding handmade signs critical of TPUSA, Lawton made the protest personal, standing in front of Mullen’s table with her middle finger extended and yelling, "neo-fascist Becky right here. Wants to destroy public schools, public universities, hates DACA kids."

According to the AAUP, Lawton insists that she "never addressed [her] shouting" directly at Mullen, though the report also notes that another professor who was participating in the protest, Amanda Gailey, suggested that Lawton "tone down" her behavior after noticing that Mullen had begun to cry.

The AAUP [contends] that Lawton "was protesting the presence of the TPUSA table in her capacity as a citizen, not in her capacity as a teacher or researcher, and outside her employment relationship with the university."

Would a white professor who derisively referred to a Black Lives Matter protester as "this communist LaKeesha" have been permitted to keep his job?

If not -- and, you know, this isn't an "if;" of course such a professor would have been fired -- then why is not racist for black profs and teaching aides to roll that way?

Meanwhile, CUNY is now dictating that you must use made-up words to flatter mentally unwell people's insistence that they are special enough to deserve mandated designer pronouns.

The City University of New York (CUNY)-Guttman recently published a new guide for students that adds "zim," "ver," and "emself" to the list of acceptable "gender-inclusive" pronouns that can be used.

I feel like I'm learning German verb prefixes again.

The "Gender Identity and Pronouns" guide tells students that the "dichotomy of 'he and she' in English does not leave room for other gender identities," and to fix this, the guide offers a list of alternatives students may use instead.

The guide claims that possible alternatives include "zie/zim/zieself," "vie/ver/verself," as well as the irregular set of pronouns, "zie, hir, hirself." To refer to a student using these pronouns, you might say: Zim drank a coffee, or perhaps, Alice bought verself a bookbag.

Students are encouraged to ask their fellow peers which pronouns they prefer, and the guide warns that "it is a privilege to not have to worry about which pronouns someone is going to use for you on the basis of how they perceive your gender."

Go fuck verself.

Oh, and the website at a Harvard College journalism organization decided to dox a poster, who is a working journalist, because that person disputed an article posted on the site that claimed that stupid, uneducated Trump voters were the most likely to believe "FakeNews."

So they doxxed her.
