The Morning Report 3/13/18
Good morning kids. Tuesday, so here we go. Up front, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man who made Californians regret recalling Gray Davis, has announced his intention to sue the oil companies for murder.
Speaking to Politico during the SXSW festival in Texas, Schwarzenegger said that he will be mounting a lawsuit against oil companies "for knowingly killing people all over the world."
"This is no different from the smoking issue," Schwarzenegger said. "The oil companies knew from 1959 on, they did their own study that there would be global warming happening because of fossil fuels, and on top of it that it would be risky for people's lives, that it would kill."
"If you walk into a room and you know you're going to kill someone, it's first degree murder; I think it's the same thing with the oil companies," he said.
I'll leave the link at IBD Editorials to break down the complete absurdity of this on the granular/legal level. From the broader context of reality, history and truth, it is oil in fact that is not only the fuel that drives the engine of prosperity (to crib a line from Rush Limbaugh), it is oil that, almost as much as air and water, that has caused human life to flourish since the start of the Industrial Revolution. Beyond merely fuel to power engines for transport and power generation, there is virtually not a single product that we eat, consume, wear or otherwise are in contact with on every second of every day that is not made of or requires petroleum in its manufacture and use. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that oil was life, is life and gives life to every man, woman and child on this planet.
Sadly, oil in the form of steroids or jet exhaust from the G-5 private jet he owns, has evidently killed off whatever functioning brain cells Schwarzenegger has left in his cavernous cranial cavity, as well as any sense of common decency. Aside from spouting pure Communist agitprop because he hates the President for pulling out of the Paris Climate Shakedown Scam, the idiot Austrian's rhetoric is not only wildly over the top, it's dangerous. It inspires the likes of James "friend of Dick Durbin" Hodgkinson to gun down GOP politicians, or a neighbor to beat up and nearly kill Rand Paul as well as myriad violent attacks on conservatives at college campuses, political rallies and elsewhere (perhaps even the spate of bombings in Austin, though that may be premature).
In a related story, the out of control 9th Circus is allowing the scam of "climate change" to be recognized as a Constitutional issue whereby lawsuits can be brought in an attempt to circumvent PDT's pro-growth,anti-Malthusian policies. All of this is the perfect illustration of the strategy of "by any means necessary." At least the US Navy is rejecting bio-fuels for its destroyers. That is until Justice Punchy Macadamia pronounces otherwise.
In other news, the House Intel Committee has officially pronounced that there was no collusion at all between President Trump and Russia, a conclusion which racialist criminal shyster Eric Holder found somewhat objectionable. Given his record or using the DOJ as a criminal enterprise, as well as his radical, America-hating pedigree, the chutzpah of this creep is truly radiant. Despite the House committee retiring, the Senate committee plods on and there is news now that Mueller is going to broaden the scope of his investigation even more to try and grab somebody doing something somewhere. It really is time to shut this shit-show down. At this point, the meme of Trump-must-be-hiding-something ain't gonna fly.
That said, supposedly that bastion of freedom, tolerance and Democracy Qatar is colluding with Mueller to give him alleged dirt on the President and his associates. That gets a "meh" from me but then there's a story of the administration agreeing to sell them $200 million in military gear, despite that country being at the center of a spying operation targeting American Jews. Besides this, which is bad enough, Qatar is turning into a regional bad actor, so that sale is kind of problematic.
It's election day in PA-18 where the Democrats are hoping that their latest version of Ossoff, Conor Lamb, can win the district from GOP candidate Ric Saccone. The district went heavily Trump in 2016 but with the state's supreme court rigging the electoral map and from all reports a somewhat lackluster effort from Team Saccone, Lamb might pull out a win. If that happens, it will be the signal that the end of the Trump era is nigh. If he loses the media reaction will be "squirrel!"In a related story, a Philadelphia city commissioner is sounding the alarm bells of significant non-citizen voter registration in the state. In any case, if this is your district get out and vote.
Anyway, lots of other links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
