The Morning Report 2/14/18
Good morning kids. Happy St. Valentine's Day. Let's get right to it. First up we tackle the anti-Trump insurrection with the usual outstanding insights of Victor Davis Hanson. VDH lays out everything we all have been writing and commenting, albeit without the snark, scatology and boobeh-references that make the HQ the "award-winning" smart military blog it is but also warns:
"...Attorney General Sessions must find muscular, ambitious, and combative prosecutors (preferably from outside Washington, D.C., and preferably existing federal attorneys), direct them to call a Grand Jury, and begin collating information from congressional investigations to get to the bottom of what is likely one of gravest scandals in post-war American history: the effort to use the federal government to thwart the candidacy of an unpopular presidential candidate and then to smear and ruin his early tenure as president..."
Attorney General Jeff Sessionszzz. I think I spotted VDH's problem right there. Still, as I said, it's a must read and something that should be forced on any lib in your sphere of influence. In related news, Schiff-for-brains continues his self-beclownment by refusing to edit his 10-page Democrat "meme-o," Kamala-Toe got schooled by FBI Director Wray on presidential protocol and prerogatives, and finally if Comey, McCabe and the rest of the FBI thought Michael Flynn was being honest in their investigation, then why the hell did he plead guilty to a process crime that essentially ruined him? That is, of course, a rhetorical question.
Moving along, the Amnesty/DACA/Immigration wars continue to heat up as the deadline for DACA's demise draws closer. The Democrats, who are clearly by any metric of public opinion on the losing end of this issue, are digging in their heels because their insane base is using them as a shovel and the traitors and flunkies in the GOP-e are trying to strip away as much of the President's pillars on his policy to fake us out and claim victory for the Chamber of Commerce. Mercifully, the administration is signaling that it is not going to be fooled by either of them. That said, and not necessarily unrelated to the Insurrection, a criminal judge has ordered the President not to suspend the DACA program. Wow. Can you say "constitutional crisis?" I think it is now time for the President, along with his Solicitor General, Chief of Staff and Secret AG Lemmon 714 to issue a communique declaring their authority under the Constitution to end DACA and to admonish the Judiciary for an attempt to usurp the Executive's authority. Period. Full stop. We shall see how all this shakes out, but from where I sit, politically as well as legally and morally, the President is in the driver's seat as we head towards November. Don't go all wobbly and demand a third scoop.
Moving right along, on the international front US forces wiped out a number of Russian mercenaries operating inside Syria as well as knocked out one of their tanks, although it's not clear who was operating the vehicle. Just over the horizon, Michael Ledeen, an expert on all things Iran is predicting the downfall of the Mullahs, Qatar's Al Jazeera propaganda organ is finally being investigated for allegedly spying on American pro-Israel groups, while in Israel itself, Caroline Glick is covering that country's own Deep State insurrection against Bibi Netanyahu.
From hither and yon, despite the media's phony reportage of doom, gloom and failure, the President's policies are starting to have real effects and show promise for even more in the future. Record tax revenues are flowing in from the tax overhaul and we recorded a surplus last month, the Left is freaking out over a proposal to reform the multi-billion dollar Food Stamp fraud with real food, healthcare wonk Molly McCaughey reports on what's needed to bring the cost of medicines back down to earth and some positive analysis on the $4 trillion budget.
From hither and yon, Leftist NGO Oxfam is in deep doo-doo over disturbing child sexual assault allegations against its operatives, several links about the Democrats' ever darkening electoral prospects for this coming November and beyond, Joy Behar has the intellectual agility of a sea slug with Downs Syndrome and the moral authority of a jackal, and lastly why the Romulus and Remus of Evil - the Left and Islam- have a particularly incandescent hate on for Valentine's Day.
Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.
