As is usual, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.

Easier Problem - Black To Play
6k1/5p2/R6p/N1p1b1p1/P1Br2b1/1P2K1P1/5P2/8 b - - 0 1
Mate in 2:
1...Bf4+!
Now all of Black's pieces are after the white king like a pack of hunting dogs.
2.gxf4 gxf4#
Arf! Arf! Owoooooooooo!!!
More Challenging Problem - White To Play

White picks off the knight, thus:
1. Qxc6!
Black has 3 sub-optimal responses:
a) 1...Qxc6 and it's mate after 2.Rxd8+ Qe8 3.Rxe8#
b) It's also mate after 1...Rxd1+ 2.Rxd1 Qxc6 3.Rd8+ Qe8 4.Rxe8#
c) Or Black can give up the queen with 1...Rf8 2. Qxb6
As it turns out, the best Black can hope for is:
1...Qe3+
2.Kb1 Rf8
3.Qe4 Qxe4
4.fxe4
Once the queens are off the board, White is up a knight and his pieces have a great deal more mobility than Black's, which are all bunched up in the corner. So White should have a winning advantage.
Hope to see you all again next week!

Note: that cryptic line of letters and numbers you see underneath each board diagram is a representation of the position in what is known as "Forsyth-Edwards Notation", or F.E.N. It's actually readable by humans. Most computer applications nowadays can read FEN, so those of you who may want to study the position, you can copy the line of FEN and paste into your chess app and it should automatically recreate the position on its display board. Or, Windows users can just "triple click" on it and the entire line will be highlighted so you can copy and past it into your chess app.
