This Is What Happened To America's Enemies When We Took Them Seriously
Normandy, June 1944
We fought a two-ocean war, supplied the Russians and the British, and the American people still had meat and butter and automobiles. Our supply lines were the longest in history. We demanded and received unconditional surrenders from our foes.
I choose to believe, perhaps with less rational thought and more hope than is wise, that we will persevere in our current battles. The country and men that prosecuted the war that freed Europe and Asia deserve nothing less.
