FBI Agents Thought They Had Enough Evidence to Seek an Indictment in Public Corruption Case Against Hillary Clinton, But Justice Department Stonewalled Them Ordered Them to "Stand Down"
Starting in February and continuing today, investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and public-corruption prosecutors became increasingly frustrated with each other, as often happens within and between departments. At the center of the tension stood the U.S. attorney for Brooklyn, Robert Capers, who some at the FBI came to view as exacerbating the problems by telling each side what it wanted to hear, these people said. Through a spokeswoman, Mr. Capers declined to comment.
The roots of the dispute lie in a disagreement over the strength of the case, these people said, which broadly centered on whether Clinton Foundation contributors received favorable treatment from the State Department under Hillary Clinton.
Senior officials in the Justice Department and the FBI didn't think much of the evidence, while investigators believed they had promising leads their bosses wouldn't let them pursue, they said.
...
The public-integrity prosecutors weren’t impressed with the FBI presentation, people familiar with the discussion said. "The message was, ‘We’re done here,'" a person familiar with the matter said.
Justice Department officials became increasingly frustrated that the agents seemed to be disregarding or disobeying their instructions.
Following the February meeting, officials at Justice Department headquarters sent a message to all the offices involved to "stand down," a person familiar with the matter said.
Within the FBI, some felt they had moved well beyond the allegations made in the anti-Clinton book [Peter Schweitzer's Clinton Cash]. At least two confidential informants from other public-corruption investigations had provided details about the Clinton Foundation to the FBI, these people said.
Read the whole thing. For real this time. I was going to quote more, but you have to read the whole thing.
Now, Bret Baier also reports that the Public Corruption & White Collar Crime divisions of the FBI have been investigating the Clinton Foundation for a year. Many of the key players in the Clinton Crime Syndicate will be re-interviewed about Foundation business.
Andy McCarthy then comes in to say that the immunity deals for Cheryl Mills and other key figures was specifically used as an excuse to deny the FBI agents looking into the corruption case access to their computers.
And the US Attorney's office the Attorneys running interference for Hillary were working out of?
Why, it turns out it's Loretta Lynch's old office.
Also, Baier confirms a hot story that Kerry Picket had a couple of days ago: that while the Justice Department agreed to destroy the Hillary Crime Family's computers as part of their immunity deal, the FBI never did so and retained those computers intact, presumably for further investigative action.
So while Lynch's Minions may have stymied the investigation so far -- they might not have blocked it completely.
Watch last night's show below. It's front-loaded as far as the breaking news.
Catherine Herridge reports that this could be real legal jeopardy for Huma Abedin -- she signed the State Department exit agreement promising to turn over all classified information. (I think Hillary evaded signing this, probably citing her Brain Damage.)
But apparently lots of classified information is splattered all over Anthony Weiner's computer like so much shameful genetic material.
She also testified under oath to Judicial Watch she had turned over "all" emails to State which could contain classified information.
If that's untrue -- odds are, I think, it's not true -- she could face jail.
Unless galpal Hillary pardons her constant companion.
Even worse for her situation, Abedin swore under oath while testifying in a lawsuit brought against the State Department by Judicial Watch that she had handed over all of her devices that could hold emails relevant to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
If she’s found to have lied she could face up to five years in jail.
Also, it's possible that the president's emails, written under an alias to Hillary's illegal email address, will be revealed, if they can be 1, found on the Weiner/Abedin computer and 2, leaked before the Justice Department can destroy them.
