Among the Native Americans reached over a five-month period ending in April, more than 7 in 10 said they did not feel the word "Redskin" was disrespectful to Indians. An even higher number -- 8 in 10 -- said they would not be offended if a non-native called them that name.
Clearly the education on Indian reservations is woefully inadequate. That these poor deluded souls do not comprehend the gross and vile insult that the word "Redskin" is cannot be tolerated. We must redouble our efforts! After all it is The White Man's Burden our responsibility to guide these savages under-served members of society to more enlightened and progressive views on race.
