Sit! Roll Over! Beg! Good Proggy! [Weirddave]

Greetings fellow Morons! Sorry I didn't have a Fundamental Concepts thread for you earlier today, I'll get one up after the book thread tomorrow. I am currently in transit from vacation in Cabo San Lucas back to Baltimore. I'm sitting in the airport on Starbucks wi-fi, and I thought I'd just mention the funny thing that just happened to me on the way to totalitarianism.

Coming through security here at the Cabo airport, I was darkly amused at the trained seals at the X-ray machine. Eagerly grabbing three or four bins, putting a laptop in one, an iPad in another. Change and phones in that one, shoes and belts in this one. Gulping their waters, leaving half full bottles sitting on the unused machine behind before walking through the metal detector with their hands up like the German 6th Army at Stalingrad.

Here's the thing.

Mexican airport security, sensibly enough, requires none of this Kabuki theatre. I tucked my water bottle into my carry on, slung it on the conveyer belt, and strolled through the metal detector, fully dressed, with my arms at my side. I tipped my hat to the X-ray tech, picked up my bag, and walked toward the gates.

*SNIFF*

Hey, anyone else smell frogs boiling?
