Happy Thursday.
Here's an interesting story that serves as a reminder that anyone who has an expectation of privacy in the signals being sent from their always-on, omnidirectionally broadcasting communications device should have their heads checked. While the erection of bogus cell towers is an unusual escalation, passive interception of cell phone signals (and wifi, bluetooth, and other information folks just broadcast willy-nilly) can be and has been accomplished without a lot of technological fuss on a much smaller and less detectable scale.
