Well the Summer of Obama is finally over so it's time to put away those white gloves and shoes and get ready for world events to start happening once again.

The Venezuelan Socialist Party Has a New Prayer

And no I'm not making this up:

"Our Chavez who art in heaven, the earth, the sea and we delegates," red-shirted delegate Maria Estrella Uribe recited on Monday at the PSUV party Congress.

"Hallowed be your name, may your legacy come to us so we can spread it to people here and elsewhere. Give us your light to guide us every day," she said in front of an image of Chavez.

"Lead us not into the temptation of capitalism, deliver us from the evil of the oligarchy, like the crime of contraband, because ours is the homeland, the peace and life forever and ever. Amen. Viva Chavez!" she exclaimed to applause.

I suspect they were inspired by a certain well-known prayer and the lyrics of the East German national anthem:

Hail, hail East Germany, land of fruit and grape
Land where you'll regret if you try to escape
No matter if you tunnel under or take a running jump at the wall
Forget it, the guards will kill you, if the electrified fence doesn't first.

Once elected, the man who won the White House was no longer viewed as a republican or democrat, but the President of the United States.
