Another Obama Lie Last Night on Abortion

Last night's speech was a disgrace. The President repeated the same old lie:

Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.

The National Right to Life Committee brings the truth and a bit of snark, which you know I love:

Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee, commented: "Barack Obama needs to learn that the mere repetition of a verbal formula does not change reality. The reality is that the Obama-backed House bill would explicitly authorize the federal government insurance plan to pay for elective abortions and would explicitly authorize subsidies for private abortion insurance -- and all with federal dollars, which are the only kind of dollars that the federal government can spend."

Of course, the rub is in the details. Obama said "under our plan", but which plan is he talking about? There are five different versions of Obamacare in Congress and the President is reportedly preparing one of his own. Is he just ignoring HR 3200 now? I doubt he intends to bring his new plan—whatever it actually is—back to the House for a vote.
