Colorado McCain supporters, you are needed [Alice H.]

Thanks to Ace for letting me hijack the Open Blog again.

I know many of you morons are from Colorado, which is once again a battleground state. The last Rasmussen poll showed Obama up by six here, and the Definition of Personhood Initiative is likely to bring an even heavier turnout on both sides.

The McCain-Palin campaign is asking for phone bank volunteers for their Super Saturday push. The phone bank push is happening at all the McCain-Palin campaign offices in Colorado (and I believe nationwide, so if you're not from Colorado contact your local office). Jack DuBois of the Centennial office says that the main push will be from the Centennial phone bank, and they are planning McCain-Palin merchandise giveaways and are giving away VIP tickets to upcoming Palin events. Sarah Palin will be back in Colorado on Monday, with appearances currently scheduled for Colorado Springs and Loveland. Tickets for these appearances are also available at the Centennial office.

To sign up for the Centennial phone bank, you can RSVP by emailing Jack Dubois at jdubois(at)mccain08hq(dot)com or call 303-952-4674. The shifts are in three hour blocks from 9 am to 9 pm. The shifts currently most needed are late afternoon and evening, but all shifts still have plenty of slots. The goal is 100,000 calls statewide by the end of the day.

Colorado came to its senses after the 1992 election and has voted GOP for every presidential election since then. I know many of you are discouraged given how liberal the state tends to swing on a local level, but I really believe we can pull this one off. Colorado has a lot of smart people, and a lot of people who are taking the time to educate themselves about this election and the candidates. Let's help spread the word!
