The Morning Report — 8/ 21 /26

Good morning kids. As we briefly touched upon on the latest episode of the podcast linked here as well as in the sidebar and the popular platforms listed at the bottom of this post, there are many things that I'm grateful for in President Trump's second term and unlike Trump 1.0 the overwhelming majority of his staffing picks in cabinet and other key positions have been outstanding. It does make me feel positive insofar as our bench for future presidential elections in '28 and beyond.

his most stellar pick much to the surprise of many has been Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. The institution of a reverse domino effect in the Caribbean and Latin America in turning formerly what were thought of as permanent Socialist/Communist kleptocratic tyrannies into or at the very least taking their first steps into being free and prosperous societies and American allies has been one of the most significant foreign policy accomplishments in decades. The groundwork for this success was laid when President Ronald Reagan brought about the collapse of the Soviet Union which was the chief financier and sponsor of Latin American communist expansion and so without billions of rubles flowing in it was only a matter of time before these banana republic tyrants would follow suit. Although the political will to bring them down was also necessary and in the case of Venezuela, a little military action and legitimate cassus belli as was the case with the Maduro/Chavez regimes' massive narco-trafficking operations posing a grave threat to our safety and security.

But of course, the last remaining domino and symbol of communist failure, tyranny and misery that has yet to fall is Cuba. And so after 66 years it certainly appears as if Castroite communist Cuba may actually at long last be free or at least have a better than even chance of being free again.

Q: What did Communists use to light the night with before candles? A: Electricity.

That is the kind of joke that survives because it is simple enough to tell in a bar, and true enough to sting.

In Havana these days, the joke has acquired an uglier second life.Fidel Castro would have turned 100 on August 13. The government marked the occasion with the familiar apparatus of revolutionary remembrance, and, increasingly, candles. Not birthday candles, but the kind a family keeps in the kitchen for when the electricity disappears again.

Without oil from Venezuela and Iran flowing in, Cuba can no longer export violence, terrorism and communism throughout the region and the globe, nor keep its own abused populace fed and fueled. That said, the government is one of the most effective and repressive police states on the planet so overcoming that as it has always been is the big challenge, just as it is in Iran and Red China, all of which have citizenry that are not pleased with their overlords.

Back to Marco Rubio, as a refugee from Castro's Cuba, the irony of him being our Secretary of State and a potential successor to President Trump himself should Cuba be liberated with him at the helm either in Foggy Bottom or perhaps seated at the Resolute Desk itself is too delicious to contemplate.

Considering the rise of the Democrat Socialites here in the US of A these days, their heads exploding as the statues and banners of the Castros are smashed and burned as Lenin's were in Russia when Communism fell is equally too delicious a prospect. No wonder they are/were in Cuba to celebrate Fidel as well as do their best to thwart President Trump and bolster Communism in Latin America.

But ¡Viva Rubio! who continues the fight regardless.

It seems that Marco Rubio has been pretty busy this week, and he's largely focused on eradicating communism, crime, and drug trafficking from the Western Hemisphere, which is exactly where I like him. Today, the Department of State is designating nine entities and three individuals to further the Trump Administration’s comprehensive push to end the Cuban regime’s malign activities, both in Cuba and across our hemisphere.  This action targets the leadership of the U.S.-designated Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and designates nine Cuban entities supporting the regime.

These designations build on the Department’s July 20 report Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism, which summarizes the Cuban regime’s decades-long use of brigades, such as the one coordinated by the designated ICAP earlier this month, to advance Cuban interests at the expense of the United States.
.. .ICAP is the organization Fidel Castro began in 1960 to build global "friendship" and "solidarity" and maintain relationships with foreign activist groups. In reality, it's a way to spread communist propaganda. According to the State Department, "it claims to have more than 2,000 solidarity organizations across over 150 countries [and] serves as the main organizing hub of Cuba’s ideological network."  Think Code Pink and the like. Additionally, "it coordinates research, educational, and cultural exchanges between American and Cuban institutions, builds relationships between American political movements and Cuban officials, and harnesses its global reach to draw leftwing activists, intellectuals, students, influencers and politicians to Cuba from across the world."

Of course the evil Commie rat bastards are not going to lay down and surrender. UN and Congress Commies stage next fake crisis.

The UN is outraged over events in Cuba. Not at the political repression by the Communist regime, the detention of over 1,200 political prisoners, the arrests of protesters, and the government-backed prostitution of children to foreign tourists, but at the U.S. sanctions which have kept foreign tourists from coming by to molest little kids and spend money.in Cuba.

The Communist regime in Havana is at its weakest in history and may be about to topple so the regime, the UN and Congress Commies have begun trying to fake a ‘Gaza-style’ crisis in Cuba. How is Cuba like Gaza? They’re both loser terrorist states lying furiously to play the victim.

And who better to certify that Cuba is Gaza with fewer mosques and more burritos.

The “silent Gaza” talking point had previously been promoted by four radical leftist members of Congress, Rep. Mark Pocan, Rep. Maxine Dexter, Rep Teresa Leger-Fernndez and Rep. Delia Catalina-Ramrez, who, despite the supposed “collapse of infrastructure” and “fuel shortages” that UN human rights experts were complaining about, were able to fly in and tour Cuba.

“I think Marco Rubio is making this personal and not professional,” Rep. Pocan whined, implying that the son of a Cuban refugee should really not take the dictatorship that destroyed his homeland personally. Rep. Pocan, who had spent much of  the last few years defending Hamas-run Gaza from Israeli attacks on the Islamic group, claimed Cuba was a “silent Gaza.”

. . . How is Cuba like Gaza? They’re both loser terrorist states lying furiously to play the victim.. . Rep. Pocan and the rest of the delegation met with Cuban dictator Miguel Daz-Canel, not with the political prisoners imprisoned by the Communist dictatorship they had come to support.  If they really cared about the ‘Cuban people’, they would have consented to meet with the families of political prisoners, as actual human rights activists were asking them to do.

Back in America, Rep. Pocan complained that “now they’re calling us Communists. Like, they’ve lost any credibility. They clearly haven’t taken a high school or even a junior high civics class recently, because they don’t understand the definitions of what they’re calling us.”

I'll leave you with the bitterest of all ironies in that we may very well liberate the world from Communism while at the same time America becomes a Communist hellhole itself. God-forbid.

And with that I bid you all to have a great weekend,
