Jimmy Kimmel Cries That His Show Will End the Way Colbert's Did (And for the Same Reason)

God save us from effeminate, histrionic men.

Yes, Jimmy, you will go the way that Colbert went, because you both are anti-talents losing the shareholders tens of millions per year.

The left is crowing that the replacement for Colbert's show is only drawing 878,000 viewers.

A bit better than it did when it was on at like 1:30 in the morning.

But it has a different business model: Byron Allen pays CBS for the hour, and collects the advertising revenue himself.

CBS lost $40 million per year to produce The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which attracted around 2.1 million viewers.

CBS is profiting $15 million per year to air Comics Unleashed, which attracted 878,000 in its debut.

Because Allen is paying CBS that $15 million.

Which is the better business decision? Losing $40 million per year, or profiting $15 million per year?

Are you still with me? This is about to get even more complicated...

After buying Colbert's former timeslot from CBS, Byron Allen will keep the proceeds from whatever advertising he sells. This means that whatever money he takes in above the $15 million license fee and the costs involved to produce Comics Unleashed (which must be a pittance) is pure profit.

"We're proud to partner with Byron Allen on a new business and programming model for late night that... was cost-prohibitive to continue," a statement from CBS read. "With this 'time buy' model, we have shifted an hour that was losing roughly $40 million annually to $15 million in profit -- a $55 million swing."

So Jimmy Kimmel is doing what weak manipulative narcissists do, and whining that people should pay attention to him and pity him.

Jimmy Kimmel has some thoughts on the purported death of late-night television.

The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host opened up in a new interview with Vulture about the future of the genre following the cancellation of Stephen Colbert's "Late Show" on CBS and his own run-ins with Trump, including his suspension following comments made about the death of Charlie Kirk.

"I feel a little bit defeated about it," Kimmel told Vulture after Colbert's final episode aired on May 21. "In a lot of ways, I feel like I'm looking at my own future."

Diabetes?

CBS canceled "The Late Show" in July 2025 -- a year before Colbert's three-year deal was set to end -- citing "purely financial reasons" despite much speculation that Colbert's anti-Trump views had something to do with it, especially with the Paramount-Skydance merger in the background. Though it was reported that Colbert's show was losing $40 million a year, Kimmel told Vulture he finds that hard to believe, pointing to a 2023 New York Times article that claims Colbert was offered a five-year contract but decided to go with three.

"Am I to believe that over the course of those two years, they suddenly started losing $40 million a year?" he said. "These are just made-up numbers."

Like a liberal, he makes up his own "facts" to justify and validate himself.

Kimmel said that ABC has told him "quite specifically" that his show is still profitable.

"There are far more people watching late-night TV than there ever were, if you look at the number of views me and my colleagues get online every day and add in our linear-television ratings," Kimmel asserted, adding: "We're not just dying of natural causes. We're being poisoned."

Are you actually insane?!?

Johnny Carson had 10-17 million viewers per night -- "only" 12 million per night in his last years.

Jimmy Kimmel's ratings range between 1.7 million and 2.2 million.

He's claiming that millions and millions and more uncounted millions watch him on YouTube. Whatever. Fat retard making shit up to make himself feel like a success.

...

Asked if he has thought about retirement, Kimmel said he's still unsure when his time will come. "It's important to me to be responsible," he said. "I know I could go out in a blaze of glory and get a lot of applause for it, but it would be a very selfish thing to do."

LOL. He does this every night. Except it's not glorious. It's just self-pleasing and selfish.

That is, if he isn't ousted first. Trump has repeatedly called for Kimmel to be fired, most recently when he made a joke about Melania Trump having a "glow like an expectant widow." In that case and that of Kirk, Kimmel said he "had the truth on my side as a defense. What if I actually do do something wrong? I mean, that's inevitable."

Of the president, Kimmel said: "I don't love him. I don't hate him, either. I feel sorry for him. He obviously didn't get hugged a lot."

Uh-huh.

Meanwhile, ABC is suing the FCC to claim that The View really is a "bona fide news program" and therefore not required to follow "equal time" rules.

Bona fide news content. Shyah.

On May 7, 2026, ABC submitted a filing to the Federal Communications Commission arguing the FCC infringed on the network's First Amendment rights.

ABC submitted the filing after the FCC asked an ABC-owned broadcast station in March to file a formal request for the FCC to determine whether ABC's "The View" is exempt from the FCC's equal opportunities rule, even though the talk show has held an exemption from the rule since 2002.

The equal opportunities rule says that if a legally qualified candidate for office appears on a broadcast station, that station is required to give equal time to all other candidates who request it.

"The View" holds one of several exemptions from the rule, what's known as the "bona fide news interview" exemption.

In its May 7 filing, ABC makes the case that "The View" continues to meet the requirements for the exemption and raises First Amendment concerns about the FCC's request that the station ask the agency to reaffirm its exemption, as well as about the FCC's general application of the rule.

The FCC has not publicly released the March document but has made statements defending the decision and its interpretation of the equal opportunities rule.

The request came months after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said he didn't believe "The View," and similar daytime and late-night talk shows, should qualify, citing concerns about partisan bias on the shows.

Meanwhile: they'll let anyone into the Graveyard of Irreplaceable Men these days!
