Florida Memphis Man

H/T to Mister Ghost in last night's Club ONT:

Memphis man shoots wife then drives her to hospital — but stops for beer along the way

A man in Memphis shot his wife in the gut and then drove her to the hospital — but stopped to pick up a beer along the way, according to local officials.

Decarlo Pitchford, 51, pulled the gun on his wife when they got into an argument on July 19 at their Tennessee home after the woman threatened to leave him, Law and Crime reported.

“I told you stop playing with me,” he allegedly said before pulling the trigger of his Ruger handgun.

Be honest - How many of you are thinking "he probably wouldn't have been able to stop for a beer had he used a .45"??

Sunday Night Retro Corner

In case you have not have heard, I will be taking on an additional night as ONT host starting this week. Weird Dave has passed the Thursday night torch to me, and he will now only be doing his Friday night meme night ONTs. As such, I will likely be revamping the Sunday night ONT to set it apart a bit from the two weekday ONTs that I will host.

One concept I'm mulling over is a recurring section of retro-related content. And it starts tonight!

Here's a cool article with some really cool retro photos. 17 Things Every Kid Looked Forward To In The Summers Before Screens

Before phones fit in our pockets and entertainment was a tap away, summer was spent a little differently. It was the season of dirty feet, bike rides with no destination, and staying out until the sky turned pink and the streetlights buzzed on. You didn’t need much to have a good time. A garden hose, a handful of fireflies, or a few friends with nothing better to do. Fun was something you made, not something you downloaded.

Back then, the days felt endless in the best way. You planned your adventures face-to-face, with nothing but a snack in hand and a head full of ideas. Boredom didn’t bother us; it pushed us to build, explore, and imagine. From running after the ice cream truck to turning cardboard boxes into rocket ships, summer was pure magic. Here are 17 things every kid looked forward to in the summers before screens took over.

12. Building forts

One of my favorites is 15: Making up games with your friends that made no sense to anyone else.

You had rules. You had a strategy. You had fun. And you’d forget the whole thing by the next day and invent something new.

In my 'hood, we had games called "Box Catchers" and "Paper Chasers". Catch me at a MoMe and I'll tell you all about them!

Definitely check out the whole article. What other things along these lines did you do back in the day?

This commercial has been stuck in my head for 45 years. Yes, I'm serious.
Do you remember it?

What say you, Horde? What other retro type content would you like to see featured on upcoming Sunday night ONTs?

It's that time of the week - when we turn the ONT over to our good friend Piper for a bit. Here's this week's fashion pr0n.

‘Fit for a Queen (see what I did there?)

Get ready to curtsy to style, because in 2026, The King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace is throwing open its doors for the most dazzling fashion exhibition yet: Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style. Marking the centenary of the late Queen’s birth, this show promises to be the largest and most comprehensive display of her wardrobe ever assembled. There will be over 200 items on exhibit —half of which have never been seen by the public. Grab your fascinators and let’s take a stylish stroll through the Queen’s wardrobe!

From princess to queen, from diplomatic dazzle to countryside chic, Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion was as legendary as her reign. This exhibition, running from spring to autumn 2026 (exact dates TBD, tickets on sale November 2025), will showcase pieces from every decade of her life. Imagine the sparkle of a silver lamé and tulle bridesmaid dress, designed by Edward Molyneux, that an eight-year-old Princess Elizabeth wore in 1934 for her uncle’s wedding. It’s one of the earliest surviving pieces from her wardrobe and a total time capsule of royal childhood glamour.

Then there’s the big-ticket items: her 1947 wedding dress and 1953 Coronation gown, both crafted by the legendary Norman Hartnell. These aren’t just dresses—they’re history in fabric, dripping with intricate embroidery and regal elegance. The wedding dress, with its romantic ivory silk and pearl details, was a post-war beacon of hope, while the Coronation gown screamed sovereignty with its golden shimmer and symbolic Commonwealth emblems.

Queen Elizabeth II wasn’t just a fashion star; she was a master of sartorial diplomacy. The exhibition will highlight how she used her wardrobe to send messages on the global stage. Take, for example, a stunning white gown from a 1961 State Banquet in Karachi, designed by Hartnell with a dramatic emerald-green pleat cascading down the back—a nod to Pakistan’s national colors. Talk about wearing your heart (and politics) on your sleeve… or rather, your skirt! This show will also feature never-before-seen notes, sketches, and letters from the Queen herself, revealing her hands-on role in crafting these diplomatic looks.

Nobody rocked a headscarf and tartan skirt quite like Queen Elizabeth II. The exhibition will showcase her off-duty style, which became just as recognizable as her glittering gowns. Think impeccably tailored riding jackets, cozy tartan skirts, and those silk headscarves that screamed “I’m at Balmoral, darling.” These pieces, many displayed for the first time, show a Queen who could go from state banquets to muddy fields without missing a beat. And honestly, her practical yet posh countryside vibe is still inspiring designers like Richard Quinn and Erdem today.

IMG_4820r.jpg

Curated by Caroline de Guitaut, Surveyor of The King’s Works of Art, this exhibition is more than a walk through a wardrobe—it’s a celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s enduring influence on British fashion. “Her distinctive style became instantly recognizable around the world, bolstering the British fashion industry and influencing generations of designers,” de Guitaut says. And she’s not wrong! From her lifelong partnership with Norman Hartnell to her championing of British couture in the 1940s, the Queen’s fashion choices put the UK on the global style map.

No visits to London in your 2026 diary? Good news! A companion book, Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion and Style, written by de Guitaut with contributions from fashion experts, will be available. It’s the perfect gift for fashion nerds and royal fans alike.

Speaking of fashion queens, there was a Melania sighting in Bedminster. She looked amazing, as usual, in a Rachel Comey Delirium dress in black polka dots from 2020. Her shoes were absolute fire - Christian Louboutin Dolly Mules in Bianca patent calf leather.

As this dress is a rewear, we can’t run out and purchase it. Fret not! I found two options at Neiman Marcus. The first is by Jacquemus, a Rita polka dot off the shoulder maxi.

Or, consider this Merlette Loris embroidered ruffle midi dress.
