Thank you for the uplifting pet thread. Always enjoy the content and comments.

Friend sent me the attached picture with the following commentary: At a saloon in Spring Hill.

"I'll have what they're having but half as much."

Enjoy your weekend

Snakes - Copy.jpg

Greetings Pet and Animal Enthusiasts,

Just a few photos I hope you enjoy.

First up is Rocky, a Banded Rock who we raised literally from an egg. His father was Cogburn (some may get that). He's a great rooster and keeps everyone in line around the property.

Next up is Chickadee who I found wandering the parking lot of where I work. Same place I found our cat Bo. She grew up to be a pretty hen.

The ducks. Crested, Indian Runner (they always stand like that), and the Yard Runner ducks. I think the Crested and Indian Runners are conspiring something, but they always stop talking when I walk up. And we have a hen that now identifies as a Duck.

Next is our newest edition to the farm from just a few weeks ago. We just happened to see him in and around the chicken coop and scooped him up. He was really tiny and the vet told us he couldn't have been more than five weeks old. We looked around for possibly more but found no others. He is fitting in well and has become quite accomplished at aggravating the other cats. We have recently named him Zippy as he ziiiiiippppppps all over the house on a regular basis.

And finally, what would living out in the country be without a few slithery types. The one on the left, Black Snake, was pulled from the chicken coop partaking in a free egg. I don't mind them so much as they keep the rodent population under control. The second, not so nice to have around. A Timber Rattler one of the cats came across and held at bay until we could make sure he wouldn't be an issue any longer.

That's all for now, hope you enjoy. I always look forward to all the great photos in the Pet Thread each week.

Great assortment of birds! Great stories to go with them. Love the hen who identifies as a duck.

And Zippy!!!!

I don't mind the black snake so much, but the rattler does not qualify as a "pet" for me.

Hi Guys,

Long time Lurker and reader for I can't imagine how long from across the pond here. Wanted to share these two photos with you. The luminescently beautiful Calico is Muse, a Romanian rescue who will attempt to eat anything up to and including the tongue of my walking boots, which I wouldn't mind too much except that she has a tendency to do so whilst I'm still wearing them. She had terrible dental and stomach problems when she came to us two years ago, and we have spent a small fortune on getting her medical issues straight and to the point where checkups draw comments like 'How is the same cat I saw last year?'. And I really mean it about the small fortune. As my mother says, you never meet a poor veterinarian. She still suffers from a lot of food insecurity, which makes life difficult when her counterpart is a finicky madam who views more than half a dozen pieces of kibble at a time as a heavy meal. They have to be watched like hawks, which is sadly something my beloved wife is far better at than myself, which means Muse often gets extras.

Our other beloved feline is Mittens, who usually photographs magnificently, but does also have a resting face which is very similar to the French cartoon version of Tom. The attached photo cracks me up every time I look at it, and hopefully will have the same effect on you. She is a very fraidy cat indeed, and we have strong suspicions that she was a bit of a rescue herself without us knowing it at the time. Five years and she has still only got up on our laps a handful of times, but does love to snuggle into bed between us and purr like a Harley Davidson without ever actually touching anything but the duvet.

Keep up the good work guys. Morons and Lurkers forever.

Best,

Carl

Gorgeous cats, wonderful photos and introductions. Thanks for sending them to us!

Hi!

From the scene of the now famous critter in the vent, here is what started it - Sabi (brown) and Kovu (black) looking intently at whatever was scratching around in there. Sabi and Kovu have been featured before, they are both F2 Savannah Cats and a bundle of crazy!

Piper

So the movie got crazier from there . . . . Great photo of great cats!
