NYT Poll Shows Trump Leading In Five Swing States; Trump Draws 100,000+ in Rally In Democratic New Jersey

I know a lot of you are bored by polls, but let me just do this slumpbuster to get started with the week.

Biden clings to a 1 point lead in Michiganistan.

I believe Trump's path to victory consists of winning NC, GA, and AZ, and then winning one of WI, PA, and MI.

So if the results in this poll were the real results of voting, Trump would win.

MXMNews:

Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in five crucial battleground states previously won by Biden, according to a comprehensive poll conducted by The New York Times, Siena College, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Surveys conducted across six states--Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin--involved 4,097 registered voters.

Both 18-to-29-year-olds and Hispanic voters, who predominantly supported Biden in 2020, now show divided loyalties, closely split between the two candidates.

Trump has garnered over 20 percent of the Black vote in these states, a level of support unseen for a Republican since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

...

Nevada: Trump leads with 51% to Biden's 38%, and in a three-way race, Trump has 44%, Biden 30%, RFK Jr 11%, and others 3%.

Arizona: Trump is ahead at 49% compared to Biden's 43%, and in another scenario, Trump at 44%, Biden 35%, RFK Jr 8%.

Pennsylvania: Trump has a 48% to 45% lead over Biden, and in a broader field, 41% for Trump, 37% for Biden, with RFK Jr at 9%.

Wisconsin: Trump holds a narrow lead of 47% to Biden's 46%, and in a more divided race, Trump leads with 40%, Biden has 39%, and RFK Jr 8%.

Georgia: Trump stands at 50% over Biden's 41%, and with additional candidates, Trump has 42%, Biden 34%, RFK Jr 8%.

Michigan: Biden maintains a slight advantage, leading 47% to Trump's 46%, and in a varied field, Biden with 42%, Trump 39%, RFK Jr 7%.

Trump drew a crowd of more than 100,000 in deep blue NJ.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy warned the Biden White House should be "concerned" ahead of November after Trump rallied as many as 100,000 supporters in New Jersey in what is being called the largest political rally in state history.

McCarthy joined "Sunday Morning Futures" to discuss his reaction to Trump's massive rally in Wildwood, New Jersey on Saturday and why he thinks the Garden State could be in play this election cycle.

"That was extraordinary," McCarthy told host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. "New Jersey [is] not a place that people think Republicans would ever compete, but the size of the crowd...could President Biden get that crowd in the heart of New York or in the most Democrat state? Could he do it in California? The answer is no."

"The other thing that we're hearing coming out of the White House itself is... President Biden needs to campaign less, talk less, because he gets in trouble while doing it," he continued. "This is President Trump showing no matter what they throw at him, he's going to fight back. He's going to lead this nation on the issues they care most about."

A Wildwood spokesperson told the Associated Press that between 80,000 and 100,000 people attended the rally, which was more than double what was expected. Trump confidently said he would win New Jersey in November as the crowd erupted.

Fact Check: True.

Trump, escalating attacks at rally, says Biden is 'surrounded by fascists'

He's still under threat of jailtime if he violates a gag order.

After spending the week sitting in silence as a parade of witnesses -- from porn star Stormy Daniels to a former White House aide -- testified in court, former President Donald Trump had to get a lot off his chest.

Speaking before tens of thousands of people in Wildwood, New Jersey, Trump called the hush money case a "sham." He mocked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as "Fat Alvin." He insulted the judge overseeing the case as "corrupt" and "highly conflicted." And according to Trump, President Joe Biden was to blame for it all.

"As you know, I've come here from New York, where I'm being forced to endure a Biden show trial -- all done by Biden," Trump said.

Trump's tirade came after a pivotal week in his New York criminal trial, where Daniels' eye-popping testimony resulted in an excruciating few days for the former president. And Monday is set to be another big day at the courthouse, when Trump's former fixer Michael Cohen is expected to take the stand.

But Trump on Saturday avoided mentioning the witnesses or jurors in the case, likely aware that any public attack would violate the gag order imposed by Justice Juan Merchan. While Merchan already held Trump in contempt for violating the order 10 times and fined him a total of $10,000, the judge also threatened Trump last week with jail time for future violations.

Surrounded by roller coasters and amusement park thrills along a boardwalk in Wildwood, the former president railed against the trial that has largely taken him off the campaign trail. This was only the third rally Trump has held since the case began almost one month ago.

But in recent events, Trump has been escalating his attacks on the justice system and Biden. During a private donor retreat last week in Palm Beach, Trump accused Biden of "running a Gestapo administration." And on Saturday, he said the president is "surrounded by fascists around the Oval Office."
