Syrian Refugee Goes on Stabbing Spree Against Children In Playground In France
Horrifying.
Chilling video footage caught a Syrian refugee repeatedly stabbing screaming adults and kids in a French playground Thursday -- including at least one toddler in a stroller.
A 90-second clip shared online shows the man repeatedly running at people in the picturesque Alpine town of Annecy, injuring at least six people, including four kids under age 5 left fighting for their lives.
Police later blamed a 31-year-old Syrian national with legal refugee status in France for the attack that President Emmanuel Macron called "an act of absolute cowardice."
The footage starts with the black-clad suspect rushing out of the play area of Le Paquiet Park as heart-wrenching screams fill the air.
"Jesus Christ!" a male voice yells in English, as the bearded suspect -- in shorts and a blue headscarf -- seems to calmly play with a chain around his neck while brandishing his knife.
The victims of the attacks are clinging to life.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that victims of a knife attack in a park in Annecy, France, were "between life and death" on Thursday, June 8.
..
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin wrote on Twitter that an individual had been arrested after "several" people, including children, were injured in the attack.
One child was three years old.
I saw a video of the attacks earlier. It's now been deleted. I don't know if it should be watched anyway -- it's horrifying.
Here's a video of the terrorist being chased.
The French media is claiming that he's not an illegal alien. Well, technically.... He has a "carte de resident" (residency card) from Sweden. This gives him legal status through 2025. This kind of residency card is generally a longer-term visa for stays longer than three months.
But he also applied for asylum in France. They denied his petition in November 2022.
So why is he still in France? I dunno -- are people granted "resident" status in one European country allowed to just bebop around Europe as if they have an European passport? I don't know the answer to the question, but the media's insistence that he's actually legally present in France suggests the answer "yes." (Or, it suggests that they're lying to cover up for illegal aliens in Europe.)
I also read a twitter comment (just from some rando claiming to be a historian, and apparently a Turkish one) claiming this guy identifies himself as a "serviteur du Christ," a servant of Christ. So they're saying he's not a Muslim, but Syrian Christian.
Eh, keep letting in masses of people you have no records about from basket-case countries. See how that goes for you.
