Leftwing Propaganda Media: Now We Want Access to All the January 6th Video, Too

They didn't want this video before -- they were, as Powerlineblog points out, happy to simply show the highly edited and curated clips the January 6th committee prepared for public release, to support their narrative. They were not interested in having any video out there at all that might challenge that carefully-cultivated storyline.

Where have they been for the last two years? Why haven't they wanted to see the footage until now? To date, apparently, they have been happy with the isolated clips and spin provided by Nancy Pelosi.

But now -- oh, but ,now! -- now that there is someone going through all the raw footage, now the leftwing propaganda media says they have to see the video.

A consortium of leftwing propaganda press outlets is demanding, demanding!, to see the video.

Incredibly, here's the justification for their demand:

"Without full public access to the complete historical record, there is concern that an ideologically-based narrative of an already polarizing event will take hold in the public consciousness...

Now they're worried that selective clips from the day's events will lead to an "ideologically-based narrative!"

These are the selfsame news organizations that ran the January 6th "committee hearings," hearings run, against all rules of the Congress, without any opposing members as part of its panel, and produced by an actual ABC entertainment showman, as if they were the Actual Historical Record!

Now they need to probe the original documents to make sure that no Partisans are Shaping Public Opinion by Releasing Carefully-Selected Clips to Make an Ideologically-Motivated Case!!!

The consortium warns that allowing Tucker Carlson to do what Nancy Pelosi did for two years would present "destabilizing risks."

...with destabilizing risks to the legitimacy of Congress, the Capitol Police, and the various federal investigations and prosecutions of January 6 crimes," wrote attorney Charles Tobin.

Incredible! The media is now... acting as defense counsel and PR agents for the government?! Why? What is the media's concern about Congress' or the Capitol Police's "legitimacy"?

When did the media appoint themselves guardians of Congress' legitimacy? Oh right, when Nancy Pelosi took the gavel -- and now that she's given it up, they're undermining Congress' legitimacy, by attacking Kevin McCarthy's decision and claiming he's acting in a partisan and reckless fashion.

Powerline comments:

The left-wing organizations imply that they want access to the footage so that they can counter any evidence that Fox News might produce that casts doubt on the Democratic Party's narrative.

Yes they're essentially admitting that they were not interested in the footage when they could have reported on the footage to correct the record as far as the January 6th committee's and government's misrepresentations; they are only interested in the footage to act as the January 6th committee's and the government's mob lawyers.
