Here's a Lord of the Rings style shot of The Old Man of Storr.
Now, if you know anything about the Old Man of Storr, you know you must never confuse it with The Old Man of Stoer -- that's Stoer, not Storr -- a 200 foot tall slender rock "sea stack," also on the Isle of Skye.

It's climbable.
I'm not completely sure, but both words, Storr and Stoer, seem to derive from the Norse storr, meaning "tall, great, mighty." "Stoer" is listed as a comparative form of "storr."
So... both pinnacles have essentially the same name.
I just received this envelope from The Academy -- the Award for Least Imaginative Name-Givers In History goes to... the early inhabitants of the Isle of Skye. Accepting on behalf of the early inhabitants of the Isle of Skye: the Old Man of Stœr.
