The National Archives Were Ordered to Keep Silent About Biden Documents Investigation

Oh.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer asked the National Archives why they had posting after posting on their website about seeking missing documents from Trump -- but has said nothing at all about the documents seized from Biden.

The National Archives General Counsel Gary Stern answered he did prepare a press release about recovering documents from Biden, back in November 2022. Presumably before the elections.

But he says that someone he refused to name ordered them to keep silent about the matter.

This order could only have come from Merrick Garland or Joe Biden, Comer says.

The National Archives was blocked from informing the public about the initial discovery of classified documents at President Biden's former DC think tank by either the White House or the Department of Justice, The Post has learned.

The shocking revelation, confirmed by a source familiar with the matter, has led to allegations of a double standard in how the National Archives and Records Administration and the Justice Department are prosecuting the investigations of Biden and of former President Donald Trump for allegedly mishandling America's secrets.

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) revealed on Tuesday that Archives general counsel Gary Stern, in a closed-door interview, said he could not tell lawmakers who had ordered the Archives to keep quiet and not put out a press release announcing the Nov. 2 find at the Penn Biden Center.

"There are only two people that could have given those orders, and that's either the Department of Justice with [Attorney General] Merrick Garland or the White House with Joe Biden," Comer told Fox News' "Hannity."

"So it shows right there that this Department of Justice and this White House is interfering with this," he added.

...

NARA's relative public silence about Biden's classified documents is in stark contrast to the publicity the agency gave the discovery of sensitive files at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate this past August.

"If you go on the National Archives website, there's pages and pages of press releases and information about the FBI raid into Mar-a-Lago and Donald Trump's possession of classified documents," Comer said.

"But there's nothing on the website about Joe Biden," he told "Hannity."

Via Benny Johnson, who runs a clip of Jonathan Turley asking why the FBI and DOJ is acting with such a lack of urgency -- why is the Rehoboth beach home only being searched as of yesterday?

And even more tellingly, he points out that the University of Delaware is sitting on a huge cache of Biden papers. You might remember that the University of Delaware refused to let the media examine these papers when people wanted to see if Biden had made any notes about Tara Alexander, the employee he allegedly digitally r@ped.

Why is the DOJ and FBI not searching the huge trove of papers in Biden's University of Delaware connection?

Why does Jonathan Turley have to point out to them that this huge pile of papers exists?

Your daily reminder that NeverTrump supported Joe Biden to bring integrity and honesty back to government.

The FBI claims it found no classified documents at his Reheboth beach mansion-- after giving Biden's lawyers a long lead time to find them and destroy them -- but it did seize a Biden notebook which may contain references to classified information.

Biden didn't answer questions about this-- see, he has a cold.

Biden didn't answer questions on the matter during an economic event at the White House. The president, who is fighting off a cold, sat silently while reporters shouted at him and then were escorted from the room.

See, I told you, he has a cold. That's why he didn't answer questions, and that's why reporters were "escorted from the room." To keep them from catching the cold, you see.

It's too bad he's got a cold, because he's finally agreed to have the presidential physical he kept putting it off due to an "incredibly busy schedule."

White House FINALLY confirms Biden, 80, will have his physical on February 16 -- after missing December and January deadlines -- with lingering questions over age ahead of 2024 announcement

President Joe Biden will complete his physical on February 16, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced Wednesday

She said the two-month delay was due to his 'incredibly busy schedule'

The president has said he intends to run for the White House again in 2024, though couched the comments by suggesting it would depend on his health

See? I told you it was delayed only due to his "incredibly busy schedule." I don't know why you guys keep giving me these funny looks.

Note that the February 16th date is yet another delay -- he had previously agreed to have his physical today, February 2nd, after blowing off the December and January dates.

And now he's pushed it back to February 16th.

I've got a funny feeling he'll be "incredibly busy" on February 16th, too.
