BREAKING: SCOTUS rules Title 42 must remain in place at the border while legal challenges play out.
@FoxNews
However, it continues to be used less and less due to diplomacy, as there are certain nationalities that MX won’t take back & home countries won't accept repatriation.
This will keep Title 42 in play until at least spring, when the Supreme Court hears the case.
But it won't change much except for when Title 42 falls:

Realistically, the SCOTUS ruling on keeping Title 42 in place for now is simply delaying the inevitable. T42 is not immigration law, it is a public health rule being used for immigration purposes.
It has to drop eventually, and the migrants waiting in MX aren't going back home.
Gorsuch dissented, joining the three liberals who would have ordered Title 42 extinguished immediately.

BREAKING: #SCOTUS allows Title 42 to remain in effect for now. Case to be argued on the merits in spring 2023 will center on Q of whether states can intervene in lower court cases to defend Title 42.
J. Gorsuch pens dissent which J. Jackson joins. Justices Sotomayor and Kagan also broke w majority, but didn't write - or sign on to - formal dissenting opinion. 2/2
Mike Lee introduced an amendment to the omnibus bill that would have extended Title 42 in exchange for everything we were giving away to the Democrats, but the Traitor's Coalition of Senate Republicans said "nah, we want to be cordial and collegial with the party we actually serve."
