First-World Problems...
That truly is a First-World Problem, because tires have improved exponentially since I first started driving 13 years ago. Remember...I'm 29!.
The last flat I got was about 10 years ago, and that was mostly my fault because I paid attention to the tire pressure sensor display instead of my lying eyes. It kept telling me that left front was low, and it wasn't. Of course the sensor was reporting from a different tire, and I was too stupid to realize that. The sensors need to be reprogrammed when tires are rotated, and clearly that didn't get done.
And before that flat? I don't even remember! Probably more than 10 years!
But I will have to take this to a local shop and see whether they say the screw is in the sidewall, in which case they will try to sell me a new tire. It doesn't make much sense nowadays, with modern adhesives and materials, I can't imagine that sidewall repair is still impossible.
I blame Big Tire!
No...seriously! I'll bet that the tire companies have protocols for just this sort of stuff, and they are designed for maximum revenue. Why would the tire resellers buck them?
I think I will write a letter to Mitch McConnell and see whether he will look into it...
