The Morning Report — 8/8/22

sinemaverite.jpg

Good morning, kids. Start of a new week and so the insanity of the Orwellian insult known as the "Inflation Reduction Act," which does the exact opposite of its name (hence, Orwellian) taxes everyone out the wazoo while spending "only" a svelte $700-odd billion instead of the original $5 trillion from last year's attempted Build Bolshevism Biggerer bill passed in the Senate. To absolutely no one's surprise, the hallucinatory brown acid trip of Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema as the saviors of "conservatism" or at best "moderation" had their palms out and got them greased by greasiest of greasy bastards Chuck "Schemer" Schumer. Now we find ourselves paranoid, sweating and retching in the gutter, trying to scoop up our vomitus like Chuck Negron with the DTs in the wake of that bad trip.

Honestly, all things considered, I'm finding it hard in a way to really give a flying fig about whatever spending there is in this monstrosity. The economy is nosediving towards a Weimar/Zimbabwe level catastrophe at the same time and primarily caused by this illegitimate junta's obsession with wiping out carbon, the element and essence of life (the Horta notwithstanding) in all its forms. So what the hell is another $700 billion, that is if you really believe that the actual final figure is $700 billion and no way is it ever going to exceed that, CBO scoring shenanigans and just plain old graft and lying notwithstanding. I have no idea what the page count on this cancer is, but for sure it's got to be in the high hundreds if not into the thousands, like every other damned massive bill that has been written months if not years in advance by armies of obedient Leftist cogs, faculty lounge lizards and C-suite suck-ups, whipped out of file cabinet at the slightest whiff of a crisis that cannot be let go to waste and passed in the dead of night with no time to read even the flyleaf that says "Reg US Pat Off." and the description of the typeface.

Yet, the wastage of money is the least of our worries. It's what's buried in the fine print on page 1,437 that one day reveals itself as the anti-constitutional beast that will suck the life out of us. Remember back to the halcyon days just prior to the Obama reign of error (and arguably that continues to this day from Schloss Kalorama) when the jug-eared, dog-eating purple-lipped fraud/candidate envisioned some Civilian National Security Force that was to be bigger than the Defense Department? Well, it may be knocking on your door in the not too distant future, all in the name of "inflation reduction."

. . . Biden’s handlers are tackling the real problem facing America today: they’re expanding the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to the extent that, according to the Washington Free Beacon, it will soon be larger “than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Patrol combined.”

Yes, it’s true. The people who run Joe Biden looked around at their dumpster fire of an administration, and the smoking ruin they have wrought, and decided that what America really needs are tens of thousands of new employees for the IRS. . .

. . . Why does the IRS need so many new full-time employees? Why does it need a six-hundred-percent budget increase? It’s all part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to squeeze the American middle class. The Free Beacon notes that according to “a Congressional Budget Office analysis,” the new behemoth IRS “would result in more than $200 billion in additional revenue for the federal government over the next decade.” This is because the new IRS agents would devote substantial energy to squeezing Americans and bleeding them dry: “Democrats say the hiring of additional IRS agents will help root out tax cheats and other criminals,” for “more than half of that funding is specifically earmarked for ‘enforcement,’ meaning tax audits and other responsibilities such as ‘digital asset monitoring. . .’”

It’s easy to see where all this is going. The new super-IRS will be as corrupt and politicized as the FBI already is, and would use its new staff and money to go after dissenters from the Leftist regime in Washington. The IRS is already one of the most hated and feared of all federal agencies, and one that was already politicized during Barack Obama’s first two terms, when the infamous Lois Lerner began persecuting conservative nonprofit organizations.

Look, I'm no John Kenneth Galbraith but if the purveyors of this so-called "modern monetary theory" claim the government can print as much money as it wants to, then why does the government need to tax the citizenry at all? Ask that of a true-believing Lefty and watch him do the Norman Coordinate shuffle. But of course, the is not a dumb question at all. Taxation, at least in the post-war era of an ever-metastasizing bureaucracy is a means to stymie personal freedom as well as a punishment for individual achievement. Money, wealth and property, at whatever amount it is earned by the individual is the measure of independence and, in turn, freedom. Why do you think the Commies have spent the past hundred-odd years trying to take it away from you and why the Davos set are hot and horny for you to have nothing and like it? (see this link on the not-so-stealthy drive for a cashless society in Ireland)

Ironically, as this junta drives us all towards societal dissolution by strangling the goose that laid the golden egg of American prosperity, there won't be any money for the IRS to confiscate. You can always pay it off in debtor's prison or by building that new White Sea Canal or high-speed California railroad. One dead soul per tie just like in Burma.
