National Review: Hey, How Did the Blessing of Liberty We Know as Drag Shows for Children Get So Out-of-Control...?!?!

For National Review, the political landscape is just an endless series of hills which are not worth dying on.

Except for destructive gatekeeping attacks against the right and attempting to relive the past glory of #Canceling the John Birch Society -- National Review lives on that hill, dies on that hill. Forever.

But anything else?

It's beneath them to get into struggles over such crude matters.

I don't want to blame Cooke for this -- he didn't come up with the Blessing of Liberty formulation -- but is he really pretending this just became an issue now?

No, it's been an issue for years -- and National Review has been on the other side of the issue.

And if Cooke and National Review can't admit that easily-google-able fact, then no one should pay any mind to them.

A "here's how we got this wrong" article is interesting. An article on the limits of libertarianism -- especially in an age when the forces of libertinism are using government force to force libertinism on the unwilling -- could be interesting.

But just pretending away past mistakes? Pretending they were never made? Pretending that today is Day Zero and this question is just being considered for the first time?

That's just more stupid propaganda. Just more stupid, boring, tedious propaganda in an age drenched in stupid, boring, tedious propaganda.

Meanwhile...

There's a very disliked mating strategy called Not Like the Other Boys. Male Feminists use this tact. "I'm not like the other boys." I hate other men, they're so aggressive and icky! Now here drink this drink which I have certainly not added ruphinol to...

Girls have started using the Not Like the Other Girls dating strategy, I hear. If a girl is really pushing her tomboy cred and talking about other girls sucking and boasting that she routinely no-scope headshots 90% of enemies in Call of Duty, she may be deploying the Not Like the Other Girls strategy.

People don't like these strategies not only because they're Fake and Put-On -- come on, all personas are Fake and Put-On, except this one you're reading right now, which is Totally Real (I'm Not Like the Other Bloggers) -- but because these strategies of course attempt to elevate the person employing them while pointing a flamethrower at all other members of that person's gender, burning them to the ground.

The elevation entails immolation of all competitors.

Obviously, I'm bringing this up because for at least a decade, if not for more, National Review has been pursuing a really nasty Not Like Those Other Conservatives dating -- erm, donor-supplication -- strategy.

Being Totally Coolio with Drag Queen Story Hours, and being quite nasty to any actual conservatives who had a problem with it, was very much a part of the Not Like The Other Conservatives branding strategy.

On behalf of all the nasty "Other Conservatives" they've been immolating with their abuse, let me say, "Yes, we know you're not like us, in fact, you're nothing like us at all, now get the fuck out and join your allies on the left without apology and with no further lies about your actual allegiance."

t'fuk'outta here, National Review, with your Johnny Come Lately poser shitlib bullshit.

National Review

The conservative magazine for liberals.

It's seriously as if they're attempting to craft a "conservatism" that will be deemed "Safe for AWFLs (Affluent White Female Liberals)," aka, their wives.
