It's time again for some stuff I listened to recently. No particular order, no particular genre, because it's mostly just random stuff from my collection, which includes an awful lot of pretty crappy stuff that I have, for reasons lost in the mists of time. And 3:00AM drunken CD buying. Or the brats buying crap in iTunes.
I was too young to have been sentient when Led Zeppelin -- Black Dog came out in 1971, but I do remember hearing it for the first time when I bought the album (which most people call "Led Zeppelin IV), and it was stunning. In fact the whole album was great, and I hope whichever of my college roommates stole it is still enjoying it!

I'm not sure about this one...I think I liked it a lot more when I was just a few years younger! But, what the hell: The Jam -- The Eton Rifles
***
Steely Dan -- Deacon Blues is from their biggest album, "Aja," and to be honest, that's the album I think of when I think of Steely Dan, which isn't very often. But when I hear their music I am usually pleased, so that's probably a character defect that will remain unrepaired.
This is not music I would expect to enjoy. It's not a group I would expect to enjoy. Yet here we are! Arcade Fire -- Haiti is good for reasons I cannot articulate.
***
The Ramones -- Blitzkrieg Bop is excellent mainstream punk rock that is just as good and fresh now as when it came out in 1976.

Is it Soul? R&B? I don't really know, because in case you haven't figured it out by now, I don't know much about music, but I know what I like. And Gladys Knight & The Pips -- Midnight Train to Georgia is one of those songs.

This is a video that seems to match the song pretty well. And what a fun song it is...
