Ugly Dwarf Robert Reich: Democrats Should Give Sinema "the Backs of Their Hands"
The Party of Women, y'all.
Former Democratic Labor Secretary Robert Reich became the latest figure on the left to viciously attack Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., over her filibuster stance, suggesting Senate Democrats should assault her for it.
"Tonight, Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema's hand," he wrote in a now-deleted tweet on Thursday. "Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands."
...
"No big deal," tweeted radio host Larry O'Connor. "Just Democrat/Socialist icon [Robert Reich] encouraging violence against a female senator who didn't vote the way he wanted."
A malignant communist dwarf with barely-repressed anger issues against women?
I shan't believe it! I simply shannot!
Update: Robert Reich has now acknowledged fault.
He acknowledged that this is all the fault of the conservative media, for "wildly misinterpreting" his statement.
Robert Reich
@RBReich
Last night I deleted a tweet because it was widely misinterpreted and distorted by conservative media. "Back of the hand" is an idiom for rebuke. I wholeheartedly condemn violence against women.
Why didn't you say it about Manchin then, Miguelito Loveless?
Last week, Jonathan Turley was perplexed -- remember how the media used to love "mavericks" like John McCain -- or Mitt Romney -- Republicans who defied their party to vote with the other party?
How come the leftwing media isn't celebrating two mavericks, Joe Manchin and especially the unconventional Kirsten Sinema?
I mean, you can't get more mavericky than Kirsten Sinema.
And yet the media hates them.
Liberal commentators this week went after Sinema with sputtering, blind fury, many mocking that she became emotional as she described the anger and divisions in the country.
...
Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin, who previously called for burning down the Republican Party, tweeted, "Sinema is effectively asking the authors of Jim Crow and vote-rigging to give their permission for her to stop it. This is worse than incoherent or cowardice. It's a moral disgrace. Ask the segregationists for permission to vote for Civil Rights Act?"
So, senators voicing the same position recently held by Democrats such as Biden, Obama and Schumer are now "segregationists"?
...
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) [was once hailed as a brave maverick] he voted to convict then-President Trump in his second impeachment trial; liberal commentators showered him with praise. In 2020, Stephen Colbert heralded Romney as "a ray of hope" who spoke the truth and was "willing to put up with whatever the blowback for this decision is."
...
Yet, according to the Liberal pundits, Sinema is no Romney. She had the audacity to stand on principle rather than politics....
Sinema's speech was denounced by those who insist that bipartisanship is a "myth" in the age of rage. She is, according to MSNBC's Nina Turner, a "soulless coward" for seeking common ground and compromise. She is hated precisely because she did not hate enough. She did not hate Republicans so blindly as to declare them modern Bull Connors like Biden did or to call the filibuster "a relic of Jim Crow."
So, why does the media celebrate "mavericks" like McCain, Romney, Cheney, and Kinzinger, and condemn mavericks like Manchin and Sinema to hell?
I can't figure this Groovy Mystery out.
Can you?
