"President" (lol) Brandon Brags: You're Welcome for the Inflation, America!
"President" (lol) Brandon made a bizarre boast yesterday -- on the day in which it was declared that 2021's inflation was the highest yearly inflation (7%) in 40 years, he actually bragged that December's inflation fell a bit from November's extremely high level.
President Biden
@POTUS
United States government official
Todays inflation numbers show a meaningful reduction in headline inflation over last month. We are making progress in slowing the rate of price increases. But there is still more work to do -- I remain focused on lowering costs for families and maintaining strong economic growth.
If I remember right, November's monthly rate of 0.8% inflation was also the highest inflation since 1982. December's rate of 0.5% was in fact lower, but it's bizarre to boast, "At least last month we didn't beat a 40 year old record."
Perhaps "President" (lol) Biden should brag some more -- now it's announced that the Producer Price Index, the producer-side inflation metric, widely believed to be a more accurate gauge of inflation than the Consumer Price Index -- rose nearly ten percent in 2021, the highest level since we started coming out of the Little Depression of 2007-2008.
Wholesale prices surged nearly 10% last year -- their biggest increase in more than a decade -- but notched a smaller-than-expected gain during the final month, sparking hopes that the worst of inflation could be behind the US economy.
WH econ advisor Brian Deese tells reporters that inflation is a "global phenomenon" and an "unanticipated outcome" of the pandemic
"This has been a unique year," says Deese when asked to explain why they were wrong on inflation predictions
A couple of weeks ago "President" (lol) Brandon adopted the Wreckers & Saboteurs explanation always favored by communists to explain away communists failings and blame them on the newly-minted Enemies of the State. Whenever communism fails -- which is always -- they need scapegoats, and the communists always turn to "wreckers and saboteurs" -- those deliberately undermining and subverting the brilliant communist schemes -- as well as "hoarders" and other exploiters who are causing all the economic problems through their greed.
(Bloomberg) -- President Joe Biden will announce plans Monday to combat the market power of the giant conglomerates that dominate meat and poultry processing, ratcheting up a months-long campaign that has blamed anti-competitive practices for contributing to surging inflation.
"President" (lol) Brandon continues to push this "meat prices are being driven by a nefarious conspiracy of ruthlessly greedy meat shysters" which is so utterly divorced from reality that even the Washington Post now notes how deranged it all is.
President Biden is facing mounting criticism for inflation's rise to its highest level since 1982. Unfortunately, the White House's latest response is to blame greedy businesses.
Economists across the political spectrum are rightly calling out the White House for this foolishness. Even some within the White House are questioning this approach, The Post reports.
Inflation, which was relatively low for years, did not suddenly rise in recent months because businesses decided now was the ideal time to squeeze their customers.
Strangely enough, the Washington Post is repeating a line from Ben Shapiro from January 3:
Ben Shapiro
@benshapiro
Amazing how all these companies simultaneously discovered greed at the same time Joe Biden's policies created massive inflation

And that inflation is making people poorer -- tangibly poorer. Really poorer.
Inflation in prices has reduced the buying power of Americans' wages, resulting in a reduction of real wages.

@chrisweihs_
On average, real wages declined 2.4% from December 2020 to December 2021
Workers have gotten effective pay cuts in year 1 of the Biden presidency
Biden gave us a National Pay Cut.
Let's Go Brandon.
I can't believe that nearly half of all legal votes were cast for this guy.
