NeverTrumpers Have Found a Fresh Triviality to Shriek Girlishly About, If You Can Believe That
Krysten Sinema wore a ratty jean jacket while she was presiding over the Senate and NeverTrump was outraged.
Call me old-fashioned, but I don't love that. I would propose a rule: if it would be considered inappropriately casual for operating the hot dog warmer at a 7-Eleven, it's probably inappropriate for presiding over the Senate.
Preceding Sen. Sinema in horrible outfits worn in the U.S. Senate are Ted Cruz and John Ensign. I hate to give either of them credit, but neither pulled this shit as presiding officer. Sinema should be ashamed.
It pains me to be even in partial agreement with this Grotesque Literal Monster, but I agree that this is inappropriate. When you break the rules, formal and informal, of an institution, you are putting yourself above that institution.
I don't think the Senate deserves much respect as an institution, and I don't think dress codes are very important, but I don't like someone saying "This is about ME! ME! ME!" either, which is what Sinema is doing, and often does, with her Carrie-Bradshaw-meets-Minnie-Pearl anti-style. I'm usually low-level annoyed by it, but here, violating the usual decorum of the Senate, I'm more annoyed.
I think I have some Amish DNA in me: I don't like the way the English dress -- they dress Proud, with their buttoned shirts and cuffed pants.
But should she be "ashamed"? Well, seems to be very strong, very emotional language for a (biological) man concerning a woman's choice in dress.
Meanwhile, obese slob Ana Navaro (notice a trend here?) claims that the jean jacket was not just shameful, but...
...wait for it...
...(can you guess? I bet you can guess!)...
...RACIST.
Ana Navarro-Cardenas
@ananavarro
I really don’t care who gets triggered by me bringing race into this. The truth is, no woman of color could possibly dress like this, and act like this, and be taken seriously, much less elected.
I suspect every Black woman and Latina reading this knows what I’m talking about.
Really? Does Congresswoman Frederica Wilson know what you're talking about, when she dresses like a rodeo clown every day in Congress?
I suppose someone could dispute that she dresses clownishly or garishly -- but you can't dispute the inarguable fact of general principles of decorum that you don't wear hats indoors.
But the left -- which of course includes the Pierre Omidyar-funded, Joe-Biden supporting Bulwark as well as fake Republican Ana Navarro (she always fundraised for Republicans and Democrats -- so long as they were of her race) -- has declared jihad on Krysten Sinema, so now mere kerfuffles are being elevated to mortal sins.
Sen. Sinema was officiating a wedding in Brisbee, Arizona, last weekend when a couple of dozen lefty gorgons decided to show up and screech. Bride be damned.
