Moderate Centrist Unimpeachably-Ethical Attorney General Vouched for by National Review's Andy McCarthy Stands Behind His "Domestic Terrorism" Investigation Into Concerned Parents, Dismisses the Letter of Apology from the National School Board Association
Merrick Garland is testilying before the Senate Judiciary Committee today.
Note that he just testilied to a House Committee last week. And note that last week he claimed he did not have any information about, for example, the sexual assault in Loudoun county.
Last week he denied any information, beyond the NSBA letter, about threats and harassment.
Today, he again says he has no information. He had the week to "refresh his recollection," but apparently chose to remain Strategically Ignorant.
Even though the National School Board Association has apologized for calling parents "domestic terrorists," Merrick Garland dismisses this as just an apology about the "language" used -- which is true -- and says therefore he's continuing his investigation into the "domestic terrorists."'
Merrick Garland continues lying under oath, claiming a lack of knowledge -- Strategic Ignorance -- about any facts that harm the DOJ's latest political assault on citizens.
Confronted with a memo from a US Attorney suggesting that parents merely repeatedly calling the school board to complain could be considered to be a "threat" and prosecutable as a crime, Garland claims to again be ignorant and therefore refuses to answer.
He knew this was the primary issue Republicans would be asking about. He pled ignorance just last week.
Instead of looking into these matters so he could answer questions about them, he still claims he's ignorant, and still says he doesn't know what anyone is talking about.
Again, Merrick Garland claims to know nothing about the bathroom sexual assault which he just denied knowing about last week.
Still, he maintains, he has not familiarized himself with the case that prompted Steve Smith to get arrested, which was then cited as "possible domestic terrorism" justifying the FBI targeting parents.
Tom Cotton read him the riot act over this and told him he should "resign in disgrace."
Hawley made the same demand.
Don't worry, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham will be right on that if we take the Senate.
Further refusal to answer questions he knew he'd be asked -- this time, claiming he didn't have the time to review his own Department's memos and plans.
