Mid-Morning Art Thread: 25 Years Later

It is an iconic photograph, and one that encapsulates the horror of September 11th and the 2,977 people who were murdered that day by Islam. And I use the word "murdered" very carefully. This man did not commit suicide in the conventional sense. He was presented with two awful choices, and I believe that he chose the option that gave him control over his death.

But there are other images that may be becoming more important: those that represent the West's response to the 1,400 year old war against it conducted by Islam.

This is Gaza, soon after the Arab savages rampaged through the Israeli border communities. This was the beginning of the Israeli response to Islamic barbarism, and it is an image that may need to be repeated thousands of times across the world by a united West if we are to defend 21st century Western civilization against the 7th century.

And...this is not to denigrate the man in the photo above; he made an awful choice, and I respect him for it, and pray that he is at peace. But remembering and solemnity and sadness should be only a part of our response, and a cold fury, as seen in the second photo must be included.
