Why bother? Why waste the bandwidth to make this announcement when the policy of the current regime is to allow illegals over our borders without any significant resistance or flitering of them...and that includes many who have active CCP Flu.

My guess is that wetbacks outnumber legal immigrants by a significant amount. We admitted just over one million legal immigrants in 2019, and if you think that number is bigger than the number of illegals storming our borders I have a lovely bridge over the East River to sell you.

Green Card Applicants Will Soon Need COVID-19 Vaccine to Be Eligible: CDC

According to the CDC, COVID-19 “meets the definition of a quarantinable communicable disease” and specifically “the definition of severe acute respiratory syndromes” under Presidential Executive Order 13674, thus making it a “Class A Inadmissible Condition.”

Vaccine refusal without an adequate reason would render the applicant inadmissible. Specifically, the CDC said: “If an applicant refuses one or more doses of a COVID-19 vaccine series that is medically appropriate for the applicant, it should be documented that the vaccine requirements are not complete and that the applicant refuses vaccination. This applicant is Class A and is inadmissible to the United States.”

So we hold potential legal immigrants to a higher standard than those who simply crash the border. Those legal folks are by the most important measure (respect for our laws) already better potential citizens than the scum who break our laws by crossing into America illegally and then disappear into further illegality by using forged or stolen identification to qualify for the vast amount of money available to them from government programs.

The legal folks of course are far more apt to become productive members of society, even assuming that they are coming here on the coattails of anchor babies and other unwise legal means of immigration.

But the real reason for the ridiculous double standard is optics. The Biden regime wants America to have some plausible reason on which to base its assumption that the administration is actually doing something minimally competent, when in reality it is an ineffectual policy that does nothing to protect Americans from communicable disease.

And lest you think this is a one-off...

Here is a text from someone who is involved in the chaotic retreat from Afghanistan, provided by a long-time commenter.

I actually spent most of the day on Thursday trying to source additional aircraft for some of these folks and even a couple of government agencies whose existing contractors pulled their aircraft out of rotation after taking ground fire.

Was on a concall which included folks on the ground at HKIA when the bombs went off. It's really bad over there. Even worse than the news is showing. There's no fuel left at HKIA since early in the week, so the only aircraft that can get in and out have to have range for a round trip. The civilians who have been coordinating air traffic evacuated Thursday morning.

Sadly, it's only gonna get worse...and this whole disaster (and what's to come) was all 100% avoidable.

I also will give a shout out to Franklin Graham and the folks at Samaritan's Purse. They are in the thick of it and have been really moving a lot of folks out. They immediately chipped in to help one of the child protection/trafficking interdiction orgs that I work closely with.

I have no way to confirm this, so take it as a single data point. But the fuel situation has been reported by others. And that in a nutshell is the problem. The United States armed forces have been justifiably proud of its logistics expertise. As many are aware, the ability to supply armies is often what wins wars, yet we cannot supply fuel to maximize airlift capacity for just a few weeks?

That is a failure of command, and an indication that we are no longer a serious country.
