For the last week I've returned to long walks -- 3+ miles, taking about an hour. I usually do it in the morning, when it's cooler, but there are still SUNRAYZZZ.
I can say that my keto sticks had been showing pink, meaning a small amount of ketones present in the urine, but after the daily walks, they've turned dark purple, indicating large amounts of ketones.
Likewise, going by the blood test in the Keto Mojo, ketones have gone up from sometimes as low as 0.6 and sometimes in the 1.1 to 1.6 range to above 3 -- I've even had a 3.8 reading.
I'm throwin' out mad ketonezzz, son! Just ten minutes ago I clocked a 4.4.
When I was doing a strict fast -- not the low-calorie diet semi-fast I'm doing now -- I would sometimes get as high as over 6, and I think once over 7, but usually would be at around 4.5 or so. So the semi-fast plus walking has me close to what I was seeing on a full water-only fast.
So I don't know if I fully buy that non-cardio walking is better than cardio exercise, but, 1, it's more consistently doable and it won't batter your joints and 2, I am seeing serious KETONEZZZ GAINZZZ from walking.
I don't know if I'd bother watching that. It's mostly clickbait. He doesn't have any firm conclusions.
So tell me about your GAINZZZ. And BOOKZZZ, and PROJECTZZZ, and MOVIEZZZ.
I saw "Ready or Not" from 2019. Back when people used to be free to move around in public. It's available for rent, but I got to see it for free by signing up for Cinemax's one week free trial. (Which I cancelled soon after signing up -- never forget to cancel immediately. You still get your full week.)
Content warning for the trailer -- it's the unrated red band version. It shows two graphic kills.
Review: It's good! It's got an old creepy mansion, a weird family with dark secrets, secret doors, axes, rifles, longbows, crossbows, and murder. It's horror black comedy. Some of the violence is handled humorously, like the Evil Dead 2 handled it. If you cut horror so it happens fast, it becomes cartoonish and comedic.
If you cut it so it happens slowly -- so you keep the suspense and dread -- then it's real horror.
The movie does both, and both work. Mostly the family members doing the hunting get the fast comedic cut, while the heroine -- the one being hunted -- gets the slow, excruciating cut so you really feel the pain she suffers.
It is violent, and f bombs are dropped. But good. And it doesn't take itself very seriously, so the impact of the violence is lessened a bit. It's not torture porn.
