"If you're going to pick someone to be your liberal hero, they seem to be picking the wrong people," DeSantis said, discussing how the media treated his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic versus how the media treated Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

"I mean to pick Cuomo, the guy's had a lot of problems," DeSantis said with a laugh. "And then they elevated Fauci to basically sainthood, and yet we've seen Fauci's been wrong about so many different things, and clearly he wasn't honest with the American people about the origins of COVID."

"So if you're going to try to create a hero against your bad guy, if it's Trump or whoever else, at least get it right," the governor added. "It seems like the people they're picking end up having a lot of problems."

Meanwhile, Doctor Faustus is attempting to extend his fifteen minutes of infamy by spreading panic about a "Delta" variant.

Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Americans of a highly infectious COVID-19 variant as he urged more vaccinations during Tuesday's press briefing.

The variant, dubbed the "Delta" variant, was first noticed in India and has since spread to other parts of the world, including the U.K. and America. Fauci said it has been has been reported in 60 countries and transmissibility appears to be higher than the "Alpha" variant, another one that's swept across multiple countries.

He notes that at least two vaccines, the Pfizer one and AstraZeneca, seem to be effective against this Hot New Variant, so he makes this another sales pitch for vaccination.

Um... Okay, so you've lied repeatedly before to pressure people to do what you want -- "don't buy masks, they're ineffective;" claiming a falsely high level of vaccination needed for "heard immunity" -- so why wouldn't we assume you're just lying again, Faust?

I'd say that we've all achieved "herd immunity" against Fauci's lies, by having been exposed to them multiple times.
