Iran's Largest Warship Mysteriously Catches Fire, Then Sinks to the Bottom of the Gulf of Oman
Iran's captured US ships and has threatened navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. And Iran has placed mines in the Gulf of Oman.
Now their largest warship explodes.
Of course, we know for a fact this wasn't the US's doing. Biden wants to give them more billions of our dollars.
But maybe someone else got tired of their games.
Place your bets:
1) Middle Eastern incompetence and blithe disregard of basic maintenance
2) Natural chance
3) Act of a just and kindly God
4) The Jews
I'll be happy with any explanation except random chance.
Although they call it a warship, and I suppose it is, it seems like a supply ship used in the Navy.
And by "supply ship," I mean it's used to supply the Gulf of Oman with Iranian mines.
I mean, that would be my guess, and that would explain the mysterious explosions.
The largest warship in the Iranian navy caught fire and later sank Wednesday in the Gulf of Oman under unclear circumstances, the latest calamity to strike one of the country’s vessels in recent years amid tensions with the West.
...
Photos circulated on Iranian social media of sailors wearing life jackets evacuating the vessel as a fire burned behind them. Fars published video of thick, black smoke rising from the ship early Wednesday morning....
Iranian officials offered no cause for the fire aboard the Kharg, though they said an investigation had begun. It comes after a series of mysterious explosions that began in 2019 targeting commercial ships in the Gulf of Oman. The U.S. Navy later accused Iran of targeting the ships with limpet mines, timed explosives typically attached by divers to a vessel's hull.
Iran denied that, though U.S. Navy footage showed Revolutionary Guard members removing one unexploded limpet mine from a ship....
In April, an Iranian ship called the MV Saviz believed to be a Guard base and anchored for years in the Red Sea off Yemen was targeted in an attack suspected to have been carried out by Israel.
Video of the smoke rising from the ship here.
A picture of the ship here.
LOL.
Relatedly, two Iranian warships have just rounded the Horn of Africa and are sailing for the Atlantic Ocean, possibly destined for Venezuela.
While they may be headed to Venezuela -- for resupply, one guesses -- they're almost certainly in the Atlantic to threaten US shipping.
Iranian warships sailing into the Atlantic Ocean would present a major test for the Biden administration, which has been trying to re-engage Tehran in negotiations over its nuclear program.
The Iranian ships include a frigate and the Makran, a former oil tanker that was converted to a floating forward staging base, according to the officials.
Top officials in Tehran have implicitly confirmed the ships' movement. In response to POLITICO's reporting, the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday warned U.S. officials to avoid miscalculations about the country’s warships sailing in international waters.
Biden (and Obama before him) giving Iranian tyrants billions of dollars in ransom money sure doesn't seem to have bought us any peace, eh?
That Joe Biden sure "stands up to tyrants," unlike Trump.
